A good mother is first and foremost, a loving parent.

she is wise.

She is thoughtful

She is always there no matter what.

She always has the encouraging word.

She always has the helping hand.

She always has the bandaid and the kiss that makes it better.

She always listens!!!!!

She is always understanding.

She is always in her childrens corner when no one else is.

She is always the protector.

She is always the one who has the shoulder to cry on when the child feels his/her life is going to hell in a hand basket. ( even if it is a first grader who biggest problem is not being invited to a birthday party, or an adult child who didn't get the promotion they felt they deserved).

She is the one who makes her childrens friends fell at home when they come to visit (these friends usually call her mom also).

She is the one who can make a nightmare go away almost as soom as it appears.

She is the one who, no matter how tight money may be in the family, can always find a few dollars for that special something that is so important to a child.

She is the one and only one who can make that special chocolate chip pancake, or cookie, or bowl of oatmeal just the way they like it.

She is the only one who can kiss them on the cheek and say Ï love you!" and get away with it even when they feel they are too old for all that "mushy stuff".

She is the only one who will hear the whispered Ïlove you too mom." when the kid is finally too big to be comfortable saying it.

Just love them and be there for them in good times and bad. They will remember how you supported them and will love you for it.

A good mother - someone who's heart is always intent on love and doing what is best for her children, whether that involves hugging and cuddling or strict discipline that can be hard to administer. The key is selflessness coupled with good judgment. And most importantly, see
1 Corinthians 13 for a definitive guide to how to be the best mother, wife, person in general.

I say a mom that doesn't push certain topics you don't want to talk about. but she tells you some important parts anyway. open to any question. there when you need her. tells you when something doesn't seem right. like maybe she doesn't like the way your bf acts. or something like that. But I really don't have a definent description of a good mother. it all depends on the child, some like them a certain way that others don't like.

A good mother loves her children by setting the example they should follow, disciplining them when they need it, loving and encouraging them when they need it.
She is patient and kind, and willing to listen to them so they can things off their chest as well as tell them what they need to hear although they wont want to hear it because she loves them.
She is a parent above being a friend at all times.

A good mother takes care and interest in her children. She sets good moral standards and listens to what her kids say and do. She gives them love, shelter and sustanance. She would kill to protect them. She is there for her brood

Frankly, everyone has their own idea of what makes one. But I'd go with Love, Good Moral example, etc. etc. etc.
