Bottled water usually has a "best if used before" date stamped on it. This date is for reference. Technically, the water doesn't go bad if the package hasn't been compromised.

You can go by the expiration date which is usually a couple years from the time it was bottled.

Be aware that there is nothing in water that will spoil it. However, even the best filtering processes there is still a chance for micro-organisms to be left in the water. Also, the bottling process may also not be very clean.

But more importantly as time goes by the bottle is exposed to sun, and the vacuum of that bottle slowly weakens (which will allows outside impure air to be introduced in the bottle) then you have a good chance of contamination of the water.
