I am a former chef and while they have surrounded it, almond paste or marzipan is a ground almonds with sugar and made into a "paste" and can be molded into fruits used as a cake filling in cookies and pastries as a base or flavour.

Almond butter is from roasted almond and crushed like peanut butter, it is actually better for you, less fat and more omega 3-6, almond paste is made from unroasted skinless almonds.

It is a HUGE difference.

Almond paste is really a confection. It is heavy on the sugar....

Almond butter is just an oily spread of ground almonds.

It is kind of like tasting natural peanut butter out of the jar, then trying a piece of peanut butter fudge. NOTHING alike, yet from the same source. You absolutely cannot replace one with the other.

Almond butter is more spreadable...similar to peanut butter.

Almond paste is... well... more of a paste. You know, thicker, drier.

Lactose free milk is cows-milk based. The Lactose, one of the sugars, has been removed. Soy milk is a plant-based milk. Chances are your daughter is allergic to the proteins in cow's milk, not the Lactose, which is why they are putting her on Soy milk. I would call the pediatrician to discuss before trying the Lactose Free milk.
