ok so I live in a very nice neighbohood of a big city and I go to a school with people who live in my community, so most of us people in school know each other like our familes do business together or whatever. So anyways, i've been slacking off in my Biology class because its sooo boring. I talk all the time and flirt with this boy and NEWS FLASH....my grade is a 52. So I decided to sit down and email my awful teacher. I wrote a really...like really good email it was like in the form of an essay tellin my teacher why I was failing, what I could do to raise my grade...blah blah blah..the problem is I dont act smart like in school im kinda popular, good looking, I wear designer clothes, I dont act like the smart bookworm that I am so he was shocked when he got my email. and the problem is in class he made me stay after school he was like "your email was soo good...who wrote it for you?" and I was like wtf??? and I thought he was joking but he seriously thinks my parents wrote it for me

he thinks that my dad or mom wrote it because they are both prominent members of our society....he doesn't think im capable of writing such a prolific paper. So how should I convience him that I wrote it... MY PARENTS DIDNT WRITE IT...I wrote it and it really hurts me that he thinks I didnt write it because im like the only black girl in school and he might think that im stupid because im black..and im not...okay now im like ranting..but someone help!!!!!!!!!

I think the best way to improve relations and earn the respect of your teacher is to work hard to turn around your grade. Stop acting stupid! I cant stand when smart girls slack off bc they want to be cool an popular. If you want to go to college you will begin to do this immediately. Dont be ashamed to be who you are, be proud bc not everyone has your potential.

In high school I was in a very similar situation as you. My parents are very wealthy and I took everything for granted and didnt care about my grades bc I knew my parents had major connections. In 10th grade I decided that I wasnt going to be that girl bc i was being so fake. I loved being the life of every party and attend every social event which limited my time studying. I completely turned my gpa around and graduated with a 3.9 and damn near perfect SAT scores. I am so happy bc I got into Yale on my own merits.

You obviously have great potential and I hope you are able to realize your abilities.

Basically, yes. He's just a little... Mad.

I mean, you don't even play attention, and you ask why your grades are bad. To him, its pretty much a joke. Don't blame him, really. He doesn't know you as a person, and well, not listening to him during his lessons probably prompts him to dislike you more than anything. Just shrug it off. The teacher I have just stopped giving me worksheets AT ALL when I forgot to do one assignment. I ended up dropping the subject since my grade dropped to 0. Keh.

Just play attention, genuinely apologize and whatnot. Be a good student. Sadly, thats all you can really do. EARN his respect. Your parents might be prominent members of society, but thats because they've proven themselves time and again. What about you?

No offense, but wearing designer clothings and whatnot... Doubt he gives a ****, really. He might even think you're acting snobbish. Might make it worse. Don't take me wrong, I'm just trying to see things from all sorts of viewpoints.

I apologize if I sound really condescending, but all you can really do, is play attention, and EARN that respect you wanted. Welcome to teenage school life.

Oh get over it and quit playing the race card....he thinks you didn't write it because you talk all the time in class and think it is more important to flirt with a boy and you are getting a 52 in the class....did you tell him that is why you are failing?

If you are going to act like a flighty airhead, you're going to be treated like one...regardless of your race, religion or creed.

Sadly in society there will be times you will be treated unfairly by ignorant people...I wish that was not true...this is not one of them.

You earned this by not applying yourself and being superficial...who cares what kind of clothes you wear, how you look or how good looking you are?

Stupid is not cute...don't act it. Be a strong, smart, pretty African American female...when you dumb yourself down, you demean women, especially African American women, and African Americans in general.

Your focus shouldn't be on rather he believes you or not....You need to get it together and show him that "smart bookworm" side. If you do your work in class and maintain your grades then he will have no other choice than to believe that you are smart and capable of the work you present. Personally, being a teacher myself, If my student showed no interest or effort towards their classwork and then produced dynamic homework/out of school projects, I would question that too.

If you are so worried about having negative stereotypes applied to you (because you are black) then you have a responsibility to achieve academic excellence, so as to prove people wrong, if they are underestimating your intelligence. How can you rant about a teacher not respecting your mind when you've just confessed to: slacking off (flirting) in class, and achieving the less-than-stellar grade average of 52?? What is he supposed to think?

Oh, yeah? Then PROVE it!

umm...i dont think he thinks that because youre black, i think he thinks that because of what you said about how you act all stupid and popular and stuff. I'm not saying thats a bad thing I'm just saying that if you want him to believe you then start acting more like who You are....and if that doesnt work, get your parents to call him or the principal and give them heck..haha
hope i helped ;)

you should get your parents to talk to him....unless they don't know you have a 52 :X
