ps3 controller problem?

I have been having an issue with my ps3 controller. Every once in a while my character with just keep moving forward and not do anything else often resulting in running over edges or into walls while enemies fill me with lead. Its like the joystick is stuck forward but it actually isn't. I've had this problem with a few games and online as well. What could the problem be?

I have heard of people having this problem with resistence. Im also having trouble with R&C (also by insomniac) could it just be games by them?

I know what you're talking about. When I would play Resistance Fall of Man, my character would walk forward and I couldn't control my characters movements for like 2 seconds and then I wouldn't have the problem again for a long time.

I've only had this problem with Resistance Fall of Man, and it only happens to me maybe like 1 time a month if I am playing that game, but I don't really play Resistance that much any more so I haven't had any other problems with my controller.

I really don't know what it is but it seems like to me that it might just be a tiny problem with the wiring in the controller or something.
