I'm a 19 year old liberated woman how has been dating the same guy for 2 years. I have been on the pill all this time and it is getting expensive. I think my boyfriend should pay half, but I don't know him well enough to discuss money with him. How should I go about getting him to pay half ?

Are you kidding me? That's why i went on the pill! I was buying ALL the condoms. And the way he is, it really was cheaper that way...

How can yo not know him well enough when you have been with him for 2 years??. I think personally it is your respinsibiliy to pay for your pill, but why not use condoms instead that way he has to buy them, or better yet tell him next time that you guys can't have sex for 2 weeks cos you have to save up to buy the pill, that way your telling him in a different way that it's expensive and I'm sure if he wants sex he will offer to buy them for you. It's cunning but anyway your getting your free pills and he gets sex.

I've seen this work. Listen, talk to the boys mother..... tell her that her boy has been sleeping with you for the last two years and doesn't want take responsibility in helping to provide for contraception. Tell her that you have had several miscarriages and that any more pregnancies can be fatal.
Believe me, either the Mother or the boy will pay up. I give this advice to all my young patients.

You say you don't know him well enough to ask him to pay but you know him enough for sex? If your having sex you should be able to talk about intimate issues. Grow up and discuss the obvious. If he objects then object to sex until he wants to help with the cost. Two years dating and still can't discuss money. You have me puzzled. Good Luck

Rant about how angry you are, that women were finally getting more rights financially and with the government, and now there's a NEW law, that women can't pay for the pill anymore. Then, tell him that you're sorry but if he wants to continue..ehm...*fun,* he needs to buy them.

What ?????? you've been with him for 2 years and don't know him well enough to discuss money ???? that's crazy !!!
But if that is the case then I would just wait until he is asleep and steal it out of his wallet. He probably won't miss it. If he says anything, act like you don't know what he is talking about and then get mad and accuse him of spending it on another girl that he is not telling you about. That will shut him up and he won't say anything again about missing money.

you've been dating this guy (and i assume sleeping with this guy) for the past 2 years and you dont think you know him well enough to talk money with him? i dont know how your relationship is, but if i were you, i'd let him know that if he wants to continue having sex, he should contribute a little to what it takes to make sure an "oops" doesnt happen.

One day when you are talking to him just bring it up and say, "I don't know how I am going to pay for these pills". If he loves you and is a sweet guy then he will volunteer to pay for them.

Why should he have to pay for half? It's your body. There are ways of getting it cheaper. Talk to your doctor or stop having sex.
