As an AF vet of 34 years that has served with other services and before that grew up in the military I don't know if I would say it like that or I would be careful in what context I said it. The Air Force tends to want a higher percentage of it's people to stay so it treats them a little better. The nature of their mission allows them to do that though as opposed to the Army or Marines. Also the nature of their mission puts a greater emphasis on technology and keeping abreast of technological advances as they become available and used for military applications with the Navy running a close second I think. There is also a certain amount of stereotyping that goes with this due to the nature of each of the branches of the military and their mission but I don't think you can just say it is the best of all the branches and so that means the others are not any good. I know that when I was deployed with the Army and Marines on more than one occasion I was glad they had the weapons and the training they had and they did their jobs quite well. I would never look down my nose at them irregardless of what their jobs, mission, or service was or is and make that statement and apply it in derogatory way.

hmmm... i thought that flying 2000 ft above the combat and pressing a button or two really makes you the best branch. Air force is not the best branch in the military by far, but they do play an important role. I have much more respect for the Army and Marine pilots who fly helicopters 30 ft of the ground while bullets and RPGs are flying all around them. While the AF does play an important role in the military, they are really just a bunch of pansies who don't want to actually fight. (The only exception is the PJ's they are the only people I really hold in high honor)

It's not about the Air Force, or any other branch, being the best. It's about all branches working together as one team to accomplish any mission that is assigned to our military forces.

God Bless all of our military personnel, regardless of the branch they are in!!!!!!

because it's not no matter how many ers they have they cant stop enemy ground troop with out lots of civilians and co using pointless damage the only reason why we have a good military is because we have five military branches working to gather as one army + navy + marines + coast guard + air force = bad @$$ no one branch is better and or more important to America we need them all equally they all have a job to do and they all do that job well

The USAF is an important component of the Armed Forces, but are far from the best. Whenever there is trouble anywhere in the world, what is first question asked? (Hint...it is not where is the nearest Air Force Unit?)

it is not. each branch of the military has to work together to win a war. if by better you mean a higher life expectancy, that is because they are always in the air and dogfights like in top gun dont happen any more.
