Sometimes in my dreams I'm unable to lift my head and feel really, really tired and weak... what does this mean?

It's kind of hard to answer this, without an understanding of the rest of the story in the dream, can you add any more details about the situation you are in when you feel so tired in your dreams? Off hand I would say that there is some situation in your waking life that you don't feel strong enough to deal with......

>> The head is what we use to think with ~ maybe you need to change the way you think about certain issues ~ maybe you are thinking about things in a way that you have been for a long time & it's time to get rid of those old/tired ways & bring a fresh view to a situation.
>> Maybe you need to take a stronger attitude toward some things in your life, more confidence maybe ~ to be rid of the weakness you feel in your head in your dream.
Ciao!

were you trying to wake yourself up and were struggling to do so?

you do know in REM sleep, i believe it is, the body paralyzes itself so you can't act out the dreams?
