I recently moved out of state because my job relocated. My boyfriend of 2 years and I are now 4 hours apart. We see each other on the weekends but it is getting more difficult everyday. I love him and want to be with him but we don't have a plan. I am 24 and he is 27. Should I leave my job and move back to be closer to him or should I wait until we are engaged?

If you are both committed, see a future together and are willing to put the time and effort into the relationship, then I don't see why it couldn't. It would probably help if you got together with your boyfriend and discussed where you both see the relathionship going. After you have that discussion, then you'll have to decide for youself if you think moving would be right the decision. I wish you the best of luck!

4 hours is not that too bad. I live in the U.S. and my bf lives in Germany. we have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years now and have seen eachother for about 1 year if you combine all the weeks we visit. A LDR takes a lot of communication, trust and honesty. My bf and I talk a lot almost everyday, not everyone can do that but its important to talk. You dont' have to talk about just missing eachother you can talk about whatever, involve eachother in stuff that is going on in your lives. If you have the luxury of moving back and you're going to be happy then move back. Talk to him and see what he is thinking about the future ( does he ever plan on getting married?), if you two are on different pages then you have to figure out if you two can make it work. Invest in a webcam so that you get to see eachother online they help a lot. It sounds weird but seeing eachother every week may be part of the problem, you dont give yourself enough time to get over having to say bye. Granted if i was only 4 hours away from my bf i would probably want to see him every weekend too. A good idea for the two of you is to plan what you want to do on the weekends, you can plan to meet somewhere else instead of you going to see him or him going to see you at your place. Sounds like you have a really good career. Why would you mess up your career just to be with a man? Which is more important to you? You should stop thinking about him so much during the week. Get some friends and go hang out after work so your mind is not constantly on him, then attack him on the weekends.
Why can't he be the one to move closer to you???
Too many women give things up (make sacrifices) just for men and I don't think it's worth it.

well... i am currently in a long distance relationship and it is working quite well. my heart is completely in this and i am very much in love with the person that i am with. if you feel that you love the person enough and that you can be committed to it, then it should work. if you have already been with your boyfriend for two years and everything is working well, then i say you should stay with it. and you should definitely wait to see if he proposes until you decide whether you should move back or not. so... right now i think that you should just wait to see what happens.

definitly wait till you are engaged. Do not go making extreme sacrifices such as moving till you feel you are at ease with your career. If its true love, things will work out. There is no need to worry, have a little faith and live each day as if its your last.

yes long distance relationship could work sometimes but other times they cant because it be hard for the other partner to stay loyal and true to one another. or if the partner gets lonely they would end up with some other guy or girl and cheat on their boyfriend nor girlfriend. i say break things off and find someone where your livin at now.
