my friend and i were talkin bout how if there is a god, how he supposedly flooded the earth a long time ago n stuff. she says that he had to becuz everybody was horrible and killing everybody and he had to fix it, and that he was showing people that evil comes back or soemthing. but wat i think is this: the world then, with all the killing, is exactly as it is now. his drowning all those people did nothing. and seeing as how he is supposed to know EVERY LITTLE THING, he KNEW that killing them would accomplish nothing. so basically, he drowned them becuz he wanted them to change, even though he knew that nobody ever would. so just murder then. and why hasnt he, if he exists, flooded us again? we must be even worse than they were, yet here we are, nothing but a little percipitation. she says that he hasnt drowned us beczu we have free will, and can act how we please, but then wat about all the people who died? they deserved free will too. i dunno. i dont trust this whole god thing.

This is what Jesus says:
"As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

First the Lord told the survives of the flood that He would not do it again and created the rainbow as a reminder that He would not. God is a God of love but He is also a God of Judgment and Justice. He judged those pre-flood and found them guilty. His servant while building the Arc preached for the people to repent but they would not. Yes there are many evil people in the world today who are capable of great evil. I know. There are also some Christians who will live their lives out as His children and as long as there are some God will probably not destroy the earth. When the end times come it talks about fire this time destroying the Earth and God creating a new Earth for His chosen.

Sir Oliver Cromwell is wrong, first of all. There is plenty of evidence of a world wide flood (like fish fossils in the mountains). Yes, things are very bad now. The only reason God hasn't completely destroyed us yet is because of His great patience. Also, He promised to never flood the earth again. However, by the earthquakes, tsunamis, lesser floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, famines, etc. going on around the world, I think it would be wise for people to pay attention and get right with God before it is eternally too late. The reason those people were destroyed in the flood was because God wanted to ensure a pure blood line to the Messiah. This is also why He told the Israelites to destroy various groups of people. I suggest you read the Bible (New Testament first) and ask God to reveal Himself to you. Don't give up on God. He loves you. Jesus died for your sins and rose again. I'll pray for you. Here are some Bible verses to look up: Romans 10:13, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, John 3:16. Yes, we have free will, but use your free will wisely. A lot of people have misused their freedom and will be eternally sorry for it.

The flood myth is copied from the Babylonian story of Gilgamesh, The earth coming into being flowering for a time becoming evil for a equal amount of time then being destroyed coming into being and repeting the cycle over and over
This is related to the time it takes the earth to wobble though the vernal equinoz or the sighns of the zodiac
The ages of the patriarchs in the bible when are a diguised reference to this time.
10,000 years ago the earth dam that seperated the mediteranian and the black sea burst with melting of the glaciers and the increase of sea level. It created the Black sea . The sumarian myth and Genesis are the written rememberance of a actual event. Not a Global one but the sea level rise was global and the flood myth is in most cultures.

Rainbows are the reminder of God's promise, which is to never flood the earth again! I believe that promise!
Though.......
It has been said that God controls the population by causing some of the natural disasters that occur! The Lord Giveth, and The Lord taketh away! He can do what He wants to! He created us, and therefore He can allow us to live, and can also allow us to die!

God has given us the right to choose whether or not we follow Him or not. We all know right from wrong, God makes it known to us. He wanted them to walk in His light but they weren't and He had every right to do that--he has the right to serve his judgement upon the earth nowadays because we have strayed far from Him and some people do not even know him--
to answer the question about why he hasn't flooded the earth again--
Genesis 9:11
I established my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth. (NIV)
Even as God's creation we don't know everything about his ways because his ways are higher than ours--thats why he is God--he is bigger and more complex than we can even begin to imagine.
I have just one question for you--Where would you go if you died tonight? Would you go to be with Jesus because you have placed your faith in him--or would you go to burn in hell where there will be no light and God's prescence will never enter--if you go there you'll suffer for eternity-and that means forever--It's only forever?right? God has given you the power to make this choice? Him- or the world?

Do you have a texting habit?
Biblically speaking, God made a pact with mankind that He would never destroy the world by flood again. The mark of His covenant is the rainbow.
Speaking from my own opinion, I don't trust the whole God thing either. It's a load of garbage.

It says in the Bible that God promised he wouldn't ever flood the world again. And as a reminder of his promise he makes a rainbow somewhere after every rain. You do bring up some good points though. You have me thinking very hard now.

there are a lot more than just 8 righteous people on the earth right now, and God promised us that he will never destroy his creation again because of man. the next time he is just going to come here and personally get rid of the sinners without destroying all the animals and land, but that won't happen until after we Christan's are gone via the rapture

you are the sum total of what you think of and what you experience. in case you alter the way you think of roughly issues you will replace the way you experience. How lots greater suited it would be to act brazenly and incredibly in any respect cases than to be hiding in the back of a mask. you may not replace the human beings around you yet you may heal your self. discover ways to love the floor you're in. in case you do unlike some thing approximately your self, replace it. The issues you may not replace make you the guy who you're. embody those issues. Your genuine friends will settle for you for who you incredibly are. friends of the mask are actually not relatively your individuals, are they?
