Jews rule the world - Can we discuss this?

We've all heard about how "Jews rule the world." I find this an interesting topic and I would like feedback from anyone with input. But please, let's discuss this in a respectful manner.

The idea is that Jews control "all the media" (meaning most) and big business. My basic question is, is this really true or did this mentality cone from angry Muslims and Christians in Europe and the USA who were jealous of the Jews' success in business? Are the Jews just successful business people who are the victims of jealousy or do they use their money to take advantage of others (in Israel specifically)?

I've talked to Muslims before who say that Jews rule the world, but I was never sure if they were right or if that was just propaganda that they picked up from their culture.

I'll just add a bit of humor to illustrate the nonsense of the claim.

A story is told of a Jewish man who was riding on the subway reading an Arab newspaper.
A friend of his, who happened to be riding in the same subway car, noticed this strange phenomenon. Very upset, he approached the newspaper reader:
"Moshe, have you lost your mind? Why are you reading an Arab newspaper?"
Moshe replied: "I used to read the Jewish newspaper, but what did I find? Jews being persecuted, Israel being attacked, Jews disappearing through assimilation and intermarriage, Jews living in poverty. It was so upsetting to read every day!"

"So I switched to the Arab newspaper. Now what do I find? Jews own all the banks, Jews control the media, Jews are all rich and powerful, Jews control Hollywood, Jews rule the world. The news is so much better and it's nice to dream..."

The Nazis said this too. The neoNazis still claim this. If that were true why didn't the Jews gas all the Nazis?

The Jews weren't even a power in WWll. People like to claim we fought WWll to save the Jews. We never even acknowledged they were being wiped out along with Hungarians and others. The whole of eastern Europe was viciously anti-Semitic and still is. Where's the world power?

And if they were to rule the world; would we be better off?

Jews do not rule the Muslim countries. When it comes to America, Christians are inerested in God's knowledge but Jews want to learn the world's knowledge so they have 80% of the nobel prizes. They are good at making money whereas many Christians think that the love of money is the root of all evil.

Newsweek picked the 3 people who changed the world the most in the last 100 years. They are all Jews. Freud, Einstein and Karl Marx who was later baptized.

Because there have been prominent Jewish families who have controlled large segments of things in the past, like the Rothschilds, some people choose to believe that EVERYTHING big is controlled by them. I suspect if a giant survey was done of all the major corporations in the world, they would not make up a bigger part than any other group. Probably the largest group by far would be white males. But some people need a focus for their hatred and for some people that means Jews. And, yes, I do believe jealousy plays a large part in it.

What a ridiculous claim...
Nazis used the same claim in order to awaken anti Jewish feeling within Germans.
Muslims also blame the Jews for the spread of AIDS, pornography, and the like. They are very good at using Nazi-style propaganda in the 21st century.

They certainly have a hand in many big financial enterprises, like Goldmann Sachs. In this world, money is power. But the world is too big to say that Jews control the world. They certainly have their influences, but there are too many other influences that keep each of the powers that be in check. Certainly, Jews and big capitalists, but communism is just as strong and is the other ideology that opposes capitalist societies. And Israel, as small as they are, seems to be at the center of the geopolitical cauldron. To say that they control things is a bit much, but to say that they have a serious influence, well, that's worth considering.

Of course this is not a new idea.

Hitler, in fact, loved this idea, and used to incite the Germans against their Jewish neighbors.

So go ahead and have your 'interesting' discussion in a "respectful" way.

Acting as though such a blatantly racist stereotype is a potentially reasonable topic of discussion is horrific. When you're done, you can have another interesting discussion about how Black men all want to marry white women. It would be interesting! You could be respectful!--

And it would be just about as intelligent and open-minded as the subject you've proposed.

jews do not rule the world, they are not bad people and they do not control the media.these beliefs stem back centuries to the time when most bankers were jews- why? because it was a very risky business 400 years ago and no one else wanted to be bankers. im an atheist- good luck to them (i still dont believe their religion)

it is true that their is a big number of jews with alot of power
but you can not say that jews rule the world.
this jews act as individuals not as a grope and dont give a damn about jews with out powers.

How on earth could the Jews rule the world? Hitler wiped most of them out, and there aren't many converts. Thats a stereotype.
