No it is not true.
Causes of Pinkeye
Pinkeye can be caused by many of the bacteria and viruses responsible for colds and other infections, — including ear infections, sinus infections, and sore throats — and by the same types of bacteria that cause the sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Pinkeye also can be caused by allergies. These cases tend to happen more frequently among kids who also have other allergic conditions, such as hay fever. Some triggers of allergic conjunctivitis include grass, ragweed pollen, animal dander, and dust mites.
Sometimes a substance in the environment can irritate the eyes and cause pinkeye; for example, chemicals (such as chlorine and soaps) and air pollutants (such as smoke and fumes).

No... don't believe anything you hear or see in the movie Knocked Up.
Nothing said about Pink Eye in that movie is true. It isn't even caused by "poop particles" like they convey it to be. Pink eye is caused by viral bacteria infections or Chlamydia. However, Chlamydia pink eye is very rare in the states and is usually on found in Africa. Viral pink eye is very contageous though and you should keep away from anyone that has it for at least 7 days.
It's probably a good thing that one can't get pink eye that way. After seeing that movie I'm sure young boys all over are trying it on their friends and siblings.

No it does not. the only way you get pink eye. I left a web page that tell you about pinkeye.

My son was telling me about that today, hes 13 and his nickname is encyclopedia boy so its probably right!Then again I wake up most mornings with my flatulent 16 month old baby sitting on my pillow and my eyes arent pink, more of a bleary bloodshot red colour with dark bags underneath them, is that pink eye or just crappy nappy eye!!

No, I've never known methane gas to cause pink eye. Pink eye is an infection also called conjunctivitis and it's caused by inflammation.

Not that I know of. Usually you have to come into contact with someone that has it to get it. It is caused by a virus.
