I am an ex-apologist and a good friend of mine is an ex-elder (who came out of the Watchtower Society)

We are both atheists.

We have a ministry devoted to bringing the truth of religion to Christians, Jews and Muslims. So far we have been instrumental in bringing seven Mormons, nine Jehovah's Witnesses and one Jew out of their religions and into atheism.

Our ministry focuses on the evidences that show that Jesus is likely a mythical character and that the early manuscript tradition was corrupt, as well as answering their questions on apologetics - usually they come from Tektonics, AnswersinGenesis and Josh MacDowell, Woodmoreappe, etc...

Of course, we have answers to all these things, but I was hoping that you Christians might have better resources than these, so we can deepen our research even more.

All these apologetics sources seem to have the same old defenses. Do you know of any that may give better arguments?

You make a very typical yet fatal mistake: you throw the baby out with the bath water. You might be better off seeking a greater truth beyond religion, one that deepens and broadens the fundamental historical and spiritual facts of the Judeo Christian religion, rather than toss the whole thing out. Do you see that your atheisim is just as foolish as the systems that you rejected? It's something rushing in to fill the void, yet equally unfulfilling.

The Questioner seems to forgotten or is unaware of historic text that shows Romans documenting Jesus execution.

Jewish Antiquities

"so he assembled the sanhedrin of judges, and brought before them the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James"

In his book Josephus and Modern Scholarship, Professor Feldman reports that between 1937 to 1980, of 52 scholars reviewing the subject, 39 found portions of the Testimonium Flavianum to be authentic.

Other Extrabiblical Witnesses to Jesus:

Thallus (c. 50-75ad) [4/2/96]
Letter from Pliny the Younger to Trajan (c. 110)
Tacitus (Annals, c.115-120)
A fragment of Tacitus, with implications for the existence of the "Nazarene"
Suetonius (Lives of the Caesars, c. 125)
Lucian (mid-2nd century)
Galen (c.150; De pulsuum differentiis 2.4; 3.3)
Celsus (True Discourse, c.170).

When I am on my knees on prayer, I don't ask Jesus questions on how to turn the world against Him. There are too many who already have satan whispering in their ears.

Jesus is the way to salvation. Why would you want to take that knowledge away from the children the Father gave Him.

I know you are well versed in twisting God's word, I would like the innocent to have a chance to read this warning.

I can't believe that you have devoted your life to pulling people away from God. You should be ashamed of you self. Its one thing to chose to turn from God yourself but to devote your life to sending innocent souls to Hell. Now theres something to be proud of! How do you sleep at night. Your not right! You can't prove anything that way. You know an individual does not have to own a Bible to believe. It doesn't have to proven to them by a book. Its whats in a persons heart and life that decides their eternal life and what they believe. You are taking the only hope those people have for eternal Salvation weather you believe it or not. SHAME ON YOU!!!!! God will hold you ACCOUNT for the taking of his Children Souls, I thought Satan was the only one doing that, but I was WRONG.

Let me get this straight...
You want Christians to help you learn how to bring people out of Christianity into Atheism?
What next? Will you ask heterosexuals how to convince other heterosexuals to give homosexuality a try?
Perhaps you will ask pro-lifers to help convince young women to have abortions?
Or maybe you will want biologists to help convince people that evolution is all lies?
I know! Let's have history teachers help you to prove that the world is actually being run by aliens!

Atheists tell us that they want to be left alone to believe as they choose. Understandably, they don't want anyone to "shove religion down their throats".
Don't you think that people of faith deserve the same courtesy?

Oh, you have a MINISTRY now, do you? Wouldn't that mean you have a RELIGION? Hmmm this is interesting. Atheists having a ministry, trying to get Christians to give them tips on how to sway Christians away from God. Now, if you are atheists, why would you be worried? There is no God, according to you, so why are you trying to sway us away from something you say doesn't even exist? If this isn't warped logic, I don't know what is. And you call yourselves intelligent. Wow. Gee, this is quite the quandry. What to do, what to do?????

From now on, please don't call us stupid!!

I don't understand why you have turned your conversion to Atheism in to a crusade. Why discourage others from a spirituality that might be working for them as a means of coping with emotional stress, connecting with the universe, death, etc.? Especially when, even by your own admission, Christ is only "likely" a mythical character.

Brightest Blessings

Have you read the bible from cover to cover?

If you have then you would not be an athiest. If you have not, then read it as it is written and try not to guess what the verses are trying to say.

This is the only book that has lasted for over 2000 years and it has sold more copies than any of the best sellers combined.

I'm sorry but why would I ever want people to become atheists?! If you had a better motive I might provide a few sources... Why is atheism the truth? You cannot prove that there is no God!
Give me one reason..More than just a thumbs down! :)

You might already have an answer to this one but I have never seen it.

Can you prove evolution of the mind? A monkey takes my banana does he know he has stolen my property. He does not know right from wrong. He can be taught this but an animal still doesn't really know that they committed a crime. Evolution can prove physical changes, but can not prove the God given gift of a conscience, and the ability to invent and ponder.

I am always interested in hearing a good answer to this one.
