Ed P - I consider myself to have a good memory also. I do remember Jr saying that. It seems that you are taking what he said and adding a different context to it though. He did say that he overrevved the engine a couple of times. That was at one track (the glen), not multiple tracks destroying multiple engines as you seem to be insinuating..

I have no problem agreeing that he was, at his own admission, hard on that engine and likely was the cause of it grenading. I don't have a problem saying that he likely was the cause of an already failing engine dying at Martinsville. What about the other 5 engines? I also remember that this is a new engine. Think about this for a moment. DEI goes years with no significant engine trouble. The same year that they go to a new engine they start flying apart. Jr has never had significant engine management issues. The same year his team switches engines he suddenly grenades 7 of them. Add to that 4 out of 6 engines from one shop all blowing up on the same day. How is this NOT a problem with DEI not knowing how to keep the R07 together? Dega really sheds some light on DEI's engine issues. They run a lot of RPM's at DEGA or they get passed. It became obvious when 4 out of 6 engines failed at that track that DEI cannot build an R07 to survive high RPMS. You can't run a race when you need to let other teams pass you because your engine can't stand to run fast.

So that being the case, is it the drivers fault for not driving slow or the shop's fault for not providing a quality product? The only answer for any DEI/RCR powered car to CONSISTENTLY survive races without grenading is to not push it and settle for middle of the pack finishes (Paul Menard).
I really do hope that DEI figures their engines out before Daytona, because the drivers in their stable deserve equipment that won't fail when going for a win.

Hum, I my own opinion, every driver gets overly aggressive at times and will have a problem.
So I believe sometimes it could be Jr's fault, sometimes it could be something else.
I pull for the 8, but this has been a tough year for him. I believe he is really trying to win one last race at DEI, and that could be part of the issue as maybe he is pushing the envelope a little more than he would normally if he wasn't leaving.

Because Jr haters use this like saq above me use this twisted logic that if a race team's engines are blowing up on a regular basis it must be the driver. Remember this Truex has lost 3 engines this year including one that didn't even last half a race(Feb, at Fontana). Notice that the 01 car didn't have engine issues when it was a Ginn car, and running HMS engines. Jr's really never had engine issues in the past, (only 2 in 2006), but to lose 7 in a year, do the math people something's not right in your engine dept.

I think he was beatin' on that car at Martinsville and cost himself a decent finish. I think he was frustrated with it coming in and out all day and then jacked the whole thing by over reving it. He has had some serious engine problems do not get me wrong but I think if he would've run the car properly at Martinsville he would have eecked out a top ten.

I think guys like Gordon and Johnson never seem to have problems because they are better at taking care of the equipment. Being a bit smoother through the Gear box can be the difference between a finish on the podium or a finish in the garage. Look at Kenseth(My Guy by the Way) he changed his driving style and tried to be aggressive(a bit heavy on the pedal perhaps) and his motors start having problems.
These Machines are not like a everyday car, you can break it in a split second just by pushing a lil' too hard. Just look up the Dyno stats of an engine that has done a burn out and you will see how it looses a ton of horses.

People forget or dont want to remember the Truth!!!!--It is not all Jrs fault!!--Not all his fault but part of the problem is his fault!!--Jr. himself has admitted on Tv and Radio interviews that yeah I missed a shift. Or yeah I missed a shift in qualifying and it had to hurt the engine on race day. He has admitted to over Revving the Motor a few times also. So The Truth whether people dont admit it or dont remember it came out of Jrs. Own Mouth So a big part of it is not his fault but by his own ADMISSION!!! a part of it IS!!!!!!!--Not a Jr. Hater Myself just got the memory of an Elephant.

At Kansas final 365 days, Biffle ran out of gas over the final lap (which became under warning) and could no longer safeguard the %. velocity simply by fact the automobiles got here end line. the two Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson surpassed him earlier the automobiles crossed the end line. the reason they have been under a warning for a end became simply by fact NASCAR did no longer flow with a eco-friendly-white-checkered end simply by fact it became getting too dark. They desperate that the sector became frozen on the warning so as that they gave the win to Biffle even in spite of the undeniable fact that he did no longer flow the end line first. slightly every person cried approximately cheating or it being rigged in choose of Biffle or Roush. Kyle Busch makes a bypass under the yellow line for place at Talladega this 365 days to take the lead and flow directly to the win. no longer many human beings whined approximately it or mentioned that it relatively is rigged in direction of Gibbs. Junior pases the %. automobile at MIS throughout the time of a warning (no longer even on the brink of 10 automobile lengths like Kenseth mentioned) yet maintains %. velocity, starts in the back of the %. automobile whilst the eco-friendly drops and makes all of it a thank you to the checkered flag with out assitance - and now surely everyone cries, claims that is rigged and says he gets specific scientific care simply by fact he's an Earnhardt. you're all a gaggle of whiny hypocrites.

iv been sorta quite? Is this the best that Junior nation can do?
Yes, I do think Junior is the reason the motor "blowed" up.

Maybe Junior is harder on a car. Some guys are harder on their rides when they race. You can build a better machine. I believe DEI just doesn't have good enough technicians. You can overbuild an engine so it will never "blow up", but it might never win a race. There's a fine line line between performance and durability. I bet when Junior drives his #88 AMP car, he doesn't "blow" an engine, because Hendrick probably has the best technicians.

So do people want Jr just to sit back and not drive..and be happy with just finishing..This guy wants to win...not only has he had bad motors, he has had crappy handling cars as well. Its not just DEI motors its everything.. He has to drive the "h" out of these cars to get to the front..Listen to him on trackpass..I wish for once he could just have a great handling car with a better race set up..True he probably has pushed his car to the limit a couple times..but dang it he's a race car driver, he wants to drive, and win. I was so glad to see some of his dad come out in him in Martinsville..But I knew the car would croak as usual..after all its DEI crap..

Twe will all see next year if he keeps blowing up its his fault if he don't its dei fault....I think Tony Stewart beats on his car a lot and it stays running sooooo I think its prob. not Jr's fault..I think Jr's is smarter than that . he wouldn't blow them up and lose championships and races...he will have his best year in nascar next year but he wont beat the 24 or the 48.
