Questions:
Why in the old day, the majority of the people are racist?
And why, still today, some people are still racist?
( If they believe in the Big bang, there should be no reason to be a racist because we came from that)
(If they believe in the only one true, holy, living God that created the universe in one sentence according to Genesis "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth," there should be no reason to be a racist because we are all created in God's image)
(If they believe in Evolution (macroevolution), where species evolve into a different level of species, according to science textbooks, all of us came from a rock, and that is the Earth, if all of us came from a rock, there should be no reason to be a racist because we came from one origin, and that is a rock (Earth))

Some just need a way to vent their inner frustrations.
Some need a reason to feel better about themselves.
Most just know no better because of their upbringing.
There's an old song that goes;
"You are taught, before it's too late
when you're still 6, 7 or 8
to hate the people your parents hate"

I'm gonna say it,where I live most of the black people fit their stereotype, they live in bed neighborhoods, collect welfare, and don't work. Blacks that do not fit the stereotype are well received. It's a class issue not a color issue. No ghetto no racism.Unfortunately the blacks that are decent are lumped together with the ones that aren't.
Misplaced mother,The historical problems of the past have turned into excuses. There is no reason in this day and age that one cannot overcome the mistakes of 200 years ago.The honost truth is today it is easier for minorities to get scholarships and jobs, and yet I don't see many minorities taking advantage of this situation. As far as more whites being on welfare, as I stated above it is a class issue, not one of color.

Acts 10:34 “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial.
I am a Jehovah's Witness and we are not prejudice. We love everyone.
We were all created by Jehovah God.
Rev 4:11 “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created.”
I was born and raised in Long Beach Calif. and went to Jordan High School. I had friends of every color.
The first time I walked into a Kingdom Hall that's one of the first things I noticed right away. That all races were together as Brothers and Sisters loving each other truly from the heart and all serving Jehovah shoulder to shoulder.
Nice talking to you.

People are racist because they associate external physical characteristics with internal mental or emotional characteristics--most likely because they have had limited experiences with people of a similar type, and think what they know about one or a few people can be applied to anyone who superficially resembles them. Many people were raised in families where racism was passed down for generations and they do not realize it is part of their conditioning; they are functioning on automatic pilot. It's very sad that the high-minded ideas you quote are not shared by everybody.

If I say that I have an oriental rug it does not make me a racist. If I say I like Chinese food, that does not make me a racist. If the surveys say that there are more blacks in prison today as a fact that does not make me a racist. Liberals are racist because they give foreigners more rights and special privilages that whites cannot get even by hard honest work. Why are we still being punished by what our ancestors did over 200 years ago?

Well said Acren. From both sides, why be racist if we all came from either star-dust, or dirt breathed in with the breath of God? Or whatever story that other religions came up with. It's only willful ignorance that some people are like that...it makes me sad. Humanity can be so much better than what it is now.

Racism is 100% natural. When you exist in an environment that has limited resources there will be harsh competition. Your main concern will be feeding yourself then a very close second, if not tied for first, is feeding your offspring. A little less important is your extended family... all of whom look a whole lot like you, most likely. This has been bred into us for many many generations.
We don't always have to act upon these tendancies, just like you don't have to act on the impulse to kill someone when they piss you off, but if you don't think everyone has them... that is true ignorance.

Well Said!!!
It seems that the discrimination is against culture and it's unfortunate alone that so many people find it difficult to percieve the positive contributions of other cultures on par with their own. It's even worse when one associates someone with a particular ethnic stereotype because of their physical features but for the most part, I think it's just ethnocentricity...
We hinder our ability to learn and broaden our horizons if we believe that our own society and culture is the only one worth emulating. I've travelled around and have taken so many lessons from so many other cultures that I could never look at my own society and culture as superior. If I thought my race was superior in addition to that, it would be in a destructive state of mind.

Your question poses some very profound thought. It seems that the wording of the English language contributes to the idea that "color" is either good or bad. And since humans have variety in their skin color... it sort of leads one to think that various people are either good or bad because of the color of their skin. The question presupposes that there is a reason for the thought. Remember this... if you can make someone feel inferior they will conclude that you are superior.

there will always be people in the world who cant (or wont) accept people of different races, beliefs cultures or even sexes. Its a never ending process that will be fought well beyond our lifetime. The reason why is who knows some were raised to believe its the right way to be and others come about on their own.
