i was reading in a magazine that to get soft waves in your hair to curl it with a 1" curling iron. i have tried that but the curls are only at the bottom of my hair and they look really messy and dorky. if it helps to tell i have hair that's about 1 1/2 inches below my shoulders. thanks for reading ♥

The girl that suggested toilet paper is right. That really does work. But I have thick hair, so I have to use paper towels.
Or you can shampoo, condition, then sleep with damp/wet hair. This will give you beachy waves and plenty of volume in the morning.
If you want less volume and smaller waves, french braid your hair or just regular braids work too. Make sure your hair is damp/wet before you braid. Sleep with the braids, or leave them in for at least 5-6 hours.

i like beachy waves. Im unsure if that is going to help, yet my hair is straight away down. BLAH. terrible. so i take a bath and braid as small as i will for each bite of hair then in the morning i take it out and it seems surprisingly good yet to advance it alot i take advantage of gel and stuff and scruch it mutually and hairspray and that would desire to paintings.

what i like doing is taking a shower before i go to bed, then i braid my hair in pigtails (you can do 4 braids, and so on depending on the size waves you want) then i just let it dry over night.

then you can even straighten the top, it looks really good i promise, and you don't even have to use that messy gel/hairspray that makes your hair all hard.

well, good luck, this is what i do!

Sounds strange but if you want to wake up with wonderful waves to your hair. roll your hair in Toilet paper and tie. Soft to sleep in, and easy to do your hair in the morn. If you have poker straight hair like I do. Add a little bit of hair gel before tying.

This one helps too. Also, try french briading your hair while it's wet & sleep with braided overnight. Make sure to add serum before you braid it. Good Luck!
