No I dont agree.....I dont think about it . The word of God has the answers for you. AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE :-)
see below...........
Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
Please dont think that I dont care, I dont mean to say that, I myself have never spoken to an athiest . I honestly never knew how many of your numbers there is till I came onto yahoo answers.
you athiest's live on this catagory site and you post alot of questions. and you leave alot of comments here.
I never knew how many people were athiest's now I know that you do not wish to be spoken to about God's word,> I would never be a "smug fundies" to any of you. what ever that is? (I love Jesus as my Savior) is that a fundie? I dont know....
I do know that if I ever meet a athiest. I will accidently share my love cause its all over me.
like a lamp that I cant shut off>>> my joy shows.(cant help it)
If you dont accept that then I will certainly "shake the dust off" and leave you alone...... May the good Lord who loves you; bless you today. :-) jen
Matthew 10:14
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.

No. Hell is specified as a lake of fire that burns eternally. Granted what an atheist would dislike would have to be being surrounded by smug fundies, but that isn't what is layed out.

I disapprove of fundies pushing religion like a drug, but I'm pretty sure I could handle that more than eternal hellfire (if it existed). So I think the Christian idea of Hell would still be worse than Heaven with fundies.

Atheist here, and a highly ethical one. I'm a "better christian" than 99% of the people that go to church. Y'see, I don't have a god to forgive me. I have to live with my own guilt. But, of course, I've thought about what it might mean if I'm wrong. And, if your god cares more about having me pretend to worship him than the many good deeds I've committed in my lifetime (and refraining from killing the people who really deserve it), then I shall not go to heaven. If he's a stickler on that whole "belief" thing, then it's hell for me. But if the dude's got any sense of compassion and can recognize that I've never had one squib of proof of his existance and therefore choose to disbelieve but still lived right anyway, I'll go to heaven. As vonnegut said, "I serve the highest ideal in which I can comfortably believe, and that is human community."

1st hell is not an eternal place to stay in. Unbelievers go there until the Great Throne judgment then they will be taken out, judged, and thrown in the lake of Fire.
hell however is no picnic, no chatting with fellow beings you agree on but lots of torture and/or torment. And the Lake of Fire is worse. Buring forever. the pain will be so severe their will be no strength to discuss atheism or other things.

I do agree that heaven would be torture for an atheist. I do not agree that atheists will go to heaven, because I don't believe in heaven.

Look, if Jesus lost faith along his journey, is it so hard to see why a mere human could not have faith or not be able to see a tangible force? I think as long as they are good people, they'll pass the gauntlet.
