As I said in another question I have been having these weird dreams. Even though I am a laid back comedic kinda guy. Lets get this out of the way, I haven't watched any movies that would cause this lately, my Xbox 360 broke and has been getting repaired for the past two weeks so it's not videogames. And I don't no anybody in the millitary. Here is the newest dream in my series of dreams which seem to link each other in the past two months.

-I was sitting on the edge of a helicopter, it was dark and raining, the wind was howling and the helicopter was shaking. I looked down through the blackness upon miles of soaked rubble. I saw small groups of soldiers marching slowly through the rubble carring the wounded. Sometimes a soldier would point up at the helicopter and then quickly continued walking. The helicopter turned around and started flying into the distance. Of in the horizon I saw a disfigured looking statue on a small island of shore, i couldn't make out any details though. END

In your other question you said you're going to West Point, so the military and war is on your mind in a more personal way than it is for the average insulated civilian, even if you haven't started training and active duty is 5 or 6 years away. If your conscious image of war is based on Xbox, then it's certainly logical that your unconscious mind would serve up images of the horrors of war. I wonder if you've really thought through the implications of potentially volunteering for combat.

Another possibility is that this has nothing to do with the military and it's something about internal strife and conflict. Just because you're laid back doesn't mean you're immune to this sort of thing. Everyone has some inner conflict, and being laid back can just help hide it. If you've played a lot of violent video games than it also makes sense that your unconsciousmind would use violent scenes to get your attention.

We are a nation at war and you wonder what could be presenting itself to you in the way of a horrible war-type dream?

Hello.
I don't think there's such a thing as anybody who "isn't" having tension, stress, particularly disturbing dreams, anger, sadness and depression these days. In my book, it's all fairly normal for the state of our country and our world.
Our country's in a helluva mess and we all wonder what's in the future ........
All aspects of our lives are a reflection of the world around us, your dreams of war is an understandable reflection. I wouldn't try to make it personal.
