YES you can get faster in a short time period. All the quick gains in speed can be attributed to neurological adaptations that you would make through repitions and discipline. Really the only way to get faster is to run. Get lots of rest and eat healthy to have a lot of energy and try to vary your running. For example try sprinting and long distance. Also try stretching your arch.
