It's not my cat, I'm just curious. The cat has no rhythm, his legs don't move together, so he has difficulty walking and running.

They could have eaten a toxin outdoors...like antifreeze...if you suspect this is possible...get them to a vet ASAP!!!

Many of the things mentioned could contribute to kittys behavior.

One thing not listed however is the consideration that he may have eaten a lizard. Does this kitty have outside access? A blue tailed lizard if eaten will produce the drunk effect you describe. Swaying, off balance, odd tilt of the head are all symptoms.

Only a vet can make a determination based on his exam. Seek attention for the kitty or urge the owner to do so. Hope this helps out...

Yes, there is a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia that can cause a cat to wobble and fall. There is no treatment, but they can still have an excellent quality of life- they are just a little clumsy!

mercury poisoning (eating fish with mercury content)
shown in movie Prophesy back in the early 70's - I think it was a fishing village in Northern Japan that the people ate the fish and the mercury did nerve damage to them.
this is not a joke but a fact - even on some sea coasts you are only allowed to eat so much fish/or shellfish.
