Is there a disease for children who eat disgusting things?

My 8 year old daughter eats horrilble, nasty things. I would go into detail, but i'll just let you use your imagination. Is this normal or is there some sort of medical condition?

could be PICA. as in cravings for abnormal things when the body is deficient of some thing. like pregnancy cravings
