For Witches - Coal Dust?

Question

Now I know I have read this somewhere, but can't for the life of me remember where.

Anyone know of spells that use Coal Dust?

NB: If you are not of the path, please refrain from mocking or being offensive. Just save us all the time and refrain from answering at all!

I am a Trad Witch myself, with Celtic leanings. It's not that I'm wanting to use coal Dust to curse anyone you understand. It's just bugging me where I've seen it and what it was for...lol

It would be a spell to cleanse. I have two coal spells that I found in my books. Neither call for dust but they use hot coals and water as a cleanser for a person or an area. One uses the vapor released when a hot coal is thrown into a bowl of water to cleanse every thing and every one in an area and the other is to put hot coals into a metal tub of water and to wash a person who you think is being cursed by the evil eye with that water on a clean white cotton rag.

You might have to combine the coal dust with water to do something with cleansing. Although both of the spells that I found require the use of heat as well.

I've looked through my books & can't see one that uses coal dust - although if it isn't the main constituent it may have slipped my notice! Any idea what type of spell it was?
Sadly I have loaned my favorite spell book to a friend who appears to have forgotten she has it :-(

I believe that that comes from the belief of Salamanders from the fire. A Norwegian origin. I am Cherokee, and have faith in the faith of things that strenghthen our focus. As a Shaman, I try to realize that the wonder is within us all along, but, we do need guides at times. And The Salamander is a very strong guide. Would you rather be the fire that gives birth to the Salamander? Or the Salamander that rises from the flames? A good question.

the only one I know of is santeria, which uses coal dust in cursing spells for people. It's very voodoo-like.

I have not heard of that and it may be tricky to get. I do know a few witches and I have seen them doing magic but I have never seen any actually work
