I asked this earlier on in the week but got no response so i'm hoping that some more intelligent people can help me today.
Every time i shut my pc down it tells me that the mfp agent is not responding and do i want to end now. When i click yes my pc closes down fine and starts up fine the next time. My question is really: what is this mfp agent? what is it doing? and how did i get it? as i've only had this problem for the last 2 weeks. I cant think of anything that i've downloaded or installed recently so i'm clueless. Any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend that you check the system configuration utilities startup tab and disable any reference to mfp agent that is listed

Start>Run>type in MSCONFIG>Startup tab

I'm not exactly sure what the mfp agent is, do you happen to have a Panasonic fax machine or a Belkin all-in-one printer set up to your computer?

Have you got a Multifunction Printer? The agent checks the folders on your drive I believe. Try turning the printer off before shutdown.
