Like others said, they used to. After hundreds of years persecuting those who believed otherwise, they finally couldn't escape the truth any more. Interesting that it is the Christians here who find that belief most absurd. Galileo was excommunicated, primarily for heresy on just this matter. The Catholic church just reversed that judgment within the last 20 years. And they have been typically more progressive than American fundamentalists. So don' t get too smug, you creationists. You are just as wrong about evolution as your spiritual ancestors were about the earth being the center of the Universe, and for the same reason: aggressive, deliberate ignorance and desire to dictate any truth you declare in the name of a non-existent god you presume to speak for.

Not anymore. People used to think a lot of things that are later found out to not be true. Not just Christians.
By the way, I sense some rudeness going on. If you or anyone else here would like some help with that and would like to experience more peace in your life, check out www.godlovestheworld.com
