Jews dislike Christians to some extent?

Jews did not kill Jesus. Jews had no control over the way the was executed (crucifixion, a common Roman method for low criminals), since Rome was in control of the land of Israel at that time. There is no proof that the Jews wanted Jesus dead, even the Gospels were written after JC's death by his disciples, even if, maybe they were written down much later, who knows?Frankly, if the Jews wanted to kill Jesus, they would have requested of theRoman procurator (Pontius Pilate) that JC be stoned in accordance with Sanhedrin (court) law.
In short, Jews never hated Jesus. But do Jews hate Jesus now? I mean Christians used the "they killed JC" excuse to murder tens of millions of Jews over the rougly 2,000 year period till today. Perhaps Jews hate that there ever was a man called Jesus, because of all the trouble, genocide, and suffering that was brought upon them b/c of them supposedly killing him?

Had genocide been practiced against my people because of an alleged crucifixion murder of an obscure carpenter -character whose existence is questionable....I think I would start hating the guy called "Jesus". If he is the "Prince of Peace", why did the very mention and memory of his life unleash massacres and hell on earth for the Jews?

I know. Christians are constantly saying how we killed Jesus. We had nothing to do w/ it but they just can't see that. It's rather annoying and cruel actually.

If you had asked me that question before I started visiting R&S, I would have said most definitely NO! And I still say no, but I have to qualify it now after being here for a while. Jews do not hate Christians as a whole or Christianity as a religion. However, I have seen on R&S some very hateful, arrogant and bigoted questions directed toward Jews by Christians who seem to believe that they are the only "right" people in the world and everyone else is a lesser being. Jews really just want to get along in the world and be left alone to be who we are. We are very weary of having to say over and over again that we who are alive now did not kill Jesus! Should I blame every Christian alive now for the Inquisition?

There is no need for dislike or hatred on either part. I think that the common misconception comes from the fact that Pontius Pilate did give the assembled group (thought to be primarily Jewish) a choice as to whom to be released - Jesus Christ or Barabbas. Barabbas was released, therefore it could be interpreted that the Jews did have a hand in killing Jesus.

The dislike, which is legitimate, comes from a deeper well than what is ramified in the crucifixion. It is how he lived, not how he died, that informs us. Take away the drama and the miracles and Christ appears to be "the perfect philosopher", as Spinoza claimed. The problem is that on the part of both Christians and Jews there is an attachment to the ceremonial rituals, particularly those which involve a sacrifice, real or symbolic, which are performed repetitively with a curious absence of incredulity.

Jews shouldn't hate Christians and neither should the Christians hate Jews. The Jews during Jesus' times are long time dead. So what's this whole debate that Jews killed Jesus?

Some Jews dislike Christians, but most don't. Many Jews dislike a few Christians, and like others.

I dislike the girl in my girl in my high school homeroom who came up to me and starts scolding me because "I watched Jesus Christ Superstar on TV last night and I saw what your people did to our god." She also lectures me on my impending eternity in hell. I dislike the insurance company where I worked for a few years who asked if I felt that. as a Jew, I would have trouble getting along with "co-workers of other ethnic backgrounds". (OK, that company was a miserable place to work for lots of people, for a lot of reasons.)

Then there was a Catholic girl in my high school who made sure to get kosher food for me when I came to visit her.

But most of all, there are nice Christian people I work with, socialize with, etc, that I happen to like. You can't blame people who who they might (or might not) be descended from or what their ancestors may have done to my ancestors. You have to deal with the people now.

Interesting question.

I don't hate Christians, but I DO hate the way that Christianity constantly insists that we murdered Jesus. You are totally right in your summary of some reasons why it's obvious we didn't.

It's bizarre, really; we as Jews get condemned from all sides and yet the minute any of us defend ourselves in this section, we're accused of 'bias'.

EDIT - Yes, what WOULD we do without you? (cue sarcastic smile) :)
