The Company you work for should provide protective clothing such as freezer gloves, thermal underwear, coat etc. Working in the cold is actually healthier if you are well protected.

I worked for an agency once, and they put me in one of those freezer rooms one night shift. They gave me a proper padded suit, and I borrowed a wooly hat. You got a break every hour. I did one 12 hour shift and refused to go back in. To hell with that.

as long as you dress warmly, there should be no long term effects. Mankind has lived thru numerous ice ages hon, just being cold is not harmful as long as you take necessary steps to protect yourself.
