I respect your dad, thats a responsible thing to do and i'm not being sarcastic.. He wants to know your limits and you to know yours it appears, awesum! There is no way to stay sober while drinking but you can slow down the speed at which the alcohol hits you and how hard it hits you. Eat lots during the day, starchy food like potatoes is good, keep hydrated as well. When you begin the session make sure you spread out your first six or so drinks over a couple of hours, this will give your body time to adapt to the alcohol so you can knock back more later without embarrassing yourself by vomiting it out. As the people above me have said its unlikely you'll say stuff you'd normally never say unless you black out. however you might be more willing to say stuff you might say and end up regretting. However everyone is different and your inhibitions might remain rigid even after alot of booze while it may turn out that your dads goes first lol but from what you say its unlikely. Good luck tho!

My Godfather was a barman for many years and, when not serving, he enjoyed more than the odd libation. His trick was simple, if a little unpalatable. One dessert spoon of cod liver oil and a slice of dry bread. Of course, we're talking the days when you could get a decent loaf of bread, so if you're using regular supermarket stuff, make that two slices.

However, I do have to agree with a couple of the other posters who have observed that thorwing up is your body's way of saying you've had more than it can handle. There is, in my view, nothing wrong with throwing up if you heed the warning.

This actually works: go to the pharmacy and buy does pill for when you are gonna go in a boat ride...drink it 1 hr before starting to drink and then have fun...when you get home and you are gonna sleep make sure you have one foot on the ground...i'm not kidding you need to touch the floor so that your mind keeps a safe feeling and your stomach settles.

Eating beforehand, taking advil before you go to bed and make sure you stop drinking a few hours before bed so you can eat a piece of bread and drink water.
You can also not drink to the point of being sick which may be the smart thing to do...

don't mix a lot of different kinds of drinks together. like don't mix vodka with rum or stuff like that. but a mixed drink is o.k. that's weird i know. it's kinda weird that i know this and i'm only 14 but whatever. it doesn't matter if you eat anything or your drinking on an empty stomach. just try not to mix that many different drinks.
