My daughter was making herself constipated by holding in her stools due to potty training. I make sure not to give her too many apples or bananas and sneak prune juice into her sippy when she's not paying attention. Give him lots of fluids and grapes or raisins. If it's real bad, you can do a suppository and with the doctor's okay, if he hasn't had a movement in 5 days, you can do an enema. I also used the gas relief medicine too. Laying him down and massaging his lower stomach will help too. If he does start to go, push his legs up to help the poo come out. Good luck! One more thing, I would give my daughter mineral oil. Just a teaspoon once or twice a day.

Put him on a probiotic, it is the good bacteria that the intestines need to break down the bacteria. It is also what is found in yogurt. However feeding yogurt, is a dairy and dairy can make constipation worse. You can buy a probiotic in a powder form that is safe for children at a health food store. This should help. Also limit daury and rice consumtion, as well as bananas. Try feeding fresh fruits and veggies. Sometimes pear juice helps bring along a bowel movement. Have him lay on his tummy, the pressure might help. Also movement helps bring on a bowel movement, so maybe take him on a short walk. Good luck

My daughter was on miralax for a while, but have had better luck tihe Fiber Sure. It is a clear powder and can be mixed into anything. Like most things it can take a while to work. I would suggest a nice warm bath to help calm him down in the meantime.

This will sound odd, but this came from my pediatrician (and she is really good). To help with constipation, give baby a cup od warm milk with a tablespoon on dark Karo syrup in it. Baby will drink it up because it is sweet and it has been working for me for years. Also, you can try mixing some baby prunes in with plain yogurt. Lastly, a warm bath will relax baby and help get his bowles moving.

I agree with the others. First, try to figure out the cause. Give him prune juice or cranberry juice. I also hear that belly rubs help, too. You may also want to see a pediatician for some advice.

Put some brown sugar in his milk it will loosen his motions, also black licorice works fast, avoid bananas and cheese.
Give him some pamole to help with the pain.
You can also try patting his tummy around the abdomen, firm but gentle.
Rubbing his lower back can help when he is in pain to.
I feel for you and your son, i know what its like.
Plenty of fibre and water always helps.
