Yes. If you are old enough to vote and go to war you are old enough to legally drink. I think it's bull to be a legal adult but you still can't drink alcohol. Almost all teenagers drink underage anyways so it's not like the law is very inhibitive.

No, here is why.

The numbers of how many kids die at 21 will move with what ever age they start drinking at. That has already been proved.

I have seen teenagers (even at 19) drink. They drink as much as the can to get as smashed as possible. That's not good.

I have seen couples get married at 18-19 and have kids at that age. They had no idea how to take care of them self or their child.

I have seen young men and women join the Arm and Navy at that age and they had no idea what was going on.

The reason it is currently 21 is because the female brain is developed at 21. Damage from alcohol is minimal after the brain is developed. If we went by male development (not trying to be sexist, this is a fact) then we would have to wait until 28.

On a whole, I think you should be able to move out at 18, but not get married and not have kids and not enlist until they are 21.

luckily, the drinking age is 18 in england so i can drink already(im 18 now) i know i can drink responsibly...its not a matter of 18 year olds being irresponsible is a matter on if the person themselve are responsible enough to drink, hell i know a responsible 10 year old that looks after there mother who knows not to drink and such...to me the age dont matter its just the person themselves. but you can really put a limit on matureness can you

H [- LL yeah. I'm of legal drinking age and I still think it needs to be lower. There's too much politics involved when it comes to buying beer with all of the Blue Laws. Some of it is for valid reasons but most of it is way over the top like how you can't buy beer on Sundays in some places because you need to be in church (government mandating religion and morality which is totalitarian). And you can't buy beer after 11:59 in other places which is complete BULLCRAP. You should be able to buy beer whenever you want. If someone is going to commit a crime, they're going to do it anyway, it doesn't matter whether they're intoxicated or not. Likewise if someone is going to be a law abiding citizen, buying beer at 1:00am isn't going to turn them into a thug. Just my 2 cents on the issue.

I understand about being able to fight in a war and not being able to drink but come on honestly 18 year olds aren't responsible enough to be drinking in public. But who really waits until they are 21 to start drinking anyway, i was still in junior high when I had my first drink. So my answer is keep the drinking at home until you're 21, you're really not missing anything at the bars but over-priced drinks and annoying drunk people.

I might agree IF
A true official military ID were issued for those in the military or on active duty.ONLY.
otherwise the other teenagers are too immature and have no responsibility...

I absolutely think the drinking age should be lowered to 18 - you're a legal adult at that age and should be able to have a beer if you feel like it.
