I will not claim that I am truly religious or know everything there is to know about my religion...what i know is that i try to live my life as a decent human being....doing my best to live my life as best as i can trying to do it without hurting too many people along the way...i have a great respect for other religions or beliefs...i believe that everyone is entitled to have his own religion without having other people belittle those beliefs...
I think that some people put too much emphasis on religion and race...when in reality it boils down to us all being humans created by one God...we all hurt...we all laugh and cry...we all breathe...we may call God by different names like Allah, Yahweh, etc....in truth we are all brothers and sisters...we come in different physical packages but deep down inside we are all the same....

Gentle I profess to no one particular religion so I am masterfully knowledgeable of none. However I have more or less intensely studied Christianity, Islam, buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism,Confushism.and a variety of Philosophies closely associated with religions. But I am knowledgeable of many but a master of none.I see I forgot to capitalize Buddhism. One thred that i've noticied connects them all is a Wisdom and corresponding set of Principles of Morality. Also most of them are dualilistic in the sense that htey invove a soul, spirit, and/or mind or consciousness which survives bodily death. Some believe in reincarnation or transmigration of souls. In any event they involve a dualism of Personal Identity. So basically what I have discovered through years of study show me a common Morality and a dualistic Identity of the self. You might say all paths lead to the same place or as the saying goes "All paths lead to Rome."The Early Greeks believed that the four elemrnts were air, water, fire and I think wind. These were their deities so to speak.I do not know for sure how long humanity has had these moralities and Personal Identities but it goes back at least as far as 500 B.C.As I cotiue to answer your questions Gentleman,I will add more of this and things of Philosophical interest...Your Pal larry m I meant for my first word to be Gentleman and in the last sentence I meant continue.

I really don't comment on other religions unless I feel that someone is blatently attacking that religion- then I will tell them to knock it off. I hate it when people make comments about my religion based on things they have heard or don't completely understand. Unless I know for sure that a religion believes something- I don't comment on it at all.
I don't know if anyone fully knows their religion. We were all put on this earth to learn and grow, just when we think we have all the answers, we learn that there are more. I strive to know all that I can about my gospel, but I know that there is so much more to learn. I have always been the same faith- this is how I grew up and where I am today and where I intend to remain forever, but I continually learn more everyday about my faith as I continue to grow in it.
I pretty much follow the teachings of my faith, I'm not perfect and there are certainly areas where I can improve, but I strive to do my best.

Without reading the answers - I say this:
I do not follow religion - I believe that it has been shifted to what men and leaders have believed it best to be.
I know what I belive, that God created the earth in 7 days, that he spoke to many prophets, that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to be an example and a matryr for us, that He will come again for the fathful of this world. I believe in doing what is right and good. Even tho i was born in this world - I am not of this world...
I do not believe in blasting at other beliefs.... they are all too much alike to say oh this one is better than that. I respect everyone and what / where they stand on their belief. I do not see anything wrong with that. I do not believe in iimpressing my beliefs on anyone - but I will freely speak and enjoy sharing my experience as a Christian and through love - which is the common element for all believers of all religions - there should be nothing to be in disagreement about.

I believe that all the religions in this world spread the message of love and peace to the world. I usually try not to comment negatively about other peoples religion. I usually appreciate other peoples religion, but that doesn't mean that I believe it. I think i learned a lot about different religions thru y/a.
Do I know a lot about my relgion? i guess no one knows completely about their religion. Everyday I learn something new about my religion. Everyday, i see gods blessing in a different form. Everyday it is going to be different. And that is what I like about it. It doesn't matter what religion u r in. U can notice the miracles of god every day. And it doesn't matter whether u call the god jesus, allah, vishnu , budda or whatever.
I think everyday should be a a day to learn more about relgion. That is how it is for me. i think all the Gods left us some mysteries and we get to understand it completely when we finally meet him after our death. We will have to wait with patience until then.

This is like lawyer. You know the law, you success in court because you know more laws than others. In religion, You must know the truth to speak the truth of religion. And second most importantly, you must know other religions in order to fight. Fighting against an enemy without knowing non or not much about the enemy is lost. But Fighting against an enemy that you know, you will win. I would say that you must have very deep understanding of your religion. This usually takes lifetime for many people. Your philosophy is good except that not 'everyone' defends, understands, and talk against others without knowing one's religion fully.

I don't comment on religions I know nothing about, that would be pointless. But I do stand firm on my beliefs and understanding of the Bible, and I believe I have a good understanding of the scriptures, I have studied them in depth and do on a continual basis which I feel gives me the right and authority to comment on them.
I don't feel like your comment about people defending their religion without fully knowing it is a true or fair comment. Do You?
It appears to me that their is a great understanding of their beliefs and after all what is this R & S for anyways. I would hope that it would be for a greater understanding of what and why they believe the way they do.

I'm not afraid to ever say I might be wrong. I comment on religions that I don't understand fully...but I try to do so in a positive way - i.e I have no problem saying something positive about a religion I don't understand but I'm not going to BLAST one, knowingly without my ducks in a row... in fact, I can't think of a time when I blasted any religion, so....
I've said before - and some may laugh - I'm not religious... I'm spiritual.

I am not religious, even though i was born into a particular religion. All religions teach us to be tolerant, yet most religious persons are intolerant towards other religions. Religion has been the root of a large share of the strife all over the world. Its more important to be a good human being with respect and tolerance towards all religions, castes or colour, rather than being religious.

gentleman, ur words r not all that gentle.
However, criticising anything, not only religion is bad. b coz, normally we do not criticise, we condemn. Criticising needs knowledge of all aspects related.
Now, coming to religions, God alone knows why are we so conservative while talking about religion?
A religion means a code of conduct, which is almost same in all religions. What differs is rituals, which are largely derived from life style which depends more on geographical aspects than religious ones.
Next time u talk on religions, be cautious about yourself first.
