My last day at my current job is tomorrow, and there is this guy who I recently found out likes me. His friend gave me the scoop, and I would like to act on it. I told another co-worker of mine to give him my number, but it's been a little over a week with her being out for 2 days, and in training for 2 days. Now when she gets to her office, instead of her giving it to him then, she finds him and tells him to come to her office later because she has something for him, but they never seem to catch each other. Since tomorrow is my last day I would like to send him an email (if he does not come by to see her) right before I go home to let him know that I am interested, and give him my phone number. I understand that may mean I'm setting myself up for rejection, but I don't work in the office anymore, and will never see him again unless he calls me so that does not matter to me. I just don't know what to say in the email, and that's why I am asking for any suggestions.

" I'm sorry that we did not have a chance to get to know eachother while we worked together, but if you want to get to know eachother now.....here is my phone number.

I look forward to talking to you."

I'd just be honest and to the point. If you've talked to him before and have a friendship make a few jokes to lighten things up. :)
Hey....,
I just wanted to say goodbye since tomorrow is my last day. I know you'll miss me terribly since I won't be here to pick on ya anymore haha, so I'd love to (insert random topic here..) sometime. If you're interested, give me a call!
Just something like that. Hope that helps and good luck!!

Yeah that sounds good . . . Just say that he might have heard you were leaving but wanted to know if he would like to go out for drinks before you start at your other company and leave your number. If he calls good and if not, then no worries.

The direct approach is always good. How about, "Hi , Now that we don't work in the same office I feel like it's ok for me to do this. Would you like to go out sometime?"

If you know he likes you, why not approach him, and say that you think he is a nice guy, and you would like him to keep in touch with you, maybe go out for drinks (or coffee). You shouldn't still need your friend to pass on your love notes.

I'd write my number down and give it to him. Tell him to give you a call sometime. That way you don't have to worry if he got the email or not.

You sound like a 7 year old kid asking your best friend to go and tell that boy over there that you like him.

Grow up for goodness sake.
If you like a bloke - tell him.

Easy as that.
