ok so me and my best friend like this guy named Tyler. So when i told her i liked him, every now again when we would pass him in the hallway, she'd be like "omg he just totally checked you out!" then a couple days later, she confessed she thought he was hot, and now she's totally in love with him. so i liked him first, but now they might be going out! and i thought he liked ME. advice please?

If your friend knew that you liked him first. You can completely be angry with her. It's your right! She knew you liked him, but yet she tried to make a move on him. She wasn't any friend to begin with. Friends are suppose to care about on another. And not to let a guy come in between friendship. She probably was just desperate to get somebody.

First off, it sounds like she did not even know that he existed until you mentioned that you liked him, so, that tells me that she should have backed off, when she found out you liked him. She is not a friend, if she acts this way...... a friend would not try and move in on someone you like. Dump her as a friend and pick your friends more carefully.
Second, if she was mentioning him first, you need to be a friend and back off.
Boyfriends come and go, your real friends can/do last forever... no male is worth screwing up your friendships, there are sooooo many out there to choose from so pick another and move on. This does not mean that you cannot look at him and go, "wow" but don't persue him.

Well, I want to point out that your friend seems to only like him because you like him.
Anyway, I know it's hard to choose between the two, but you have to ask yourself "Who is more important to me: my friend or my crush?"
The same thing happened to me a couple times too, and I let my friend go out with the guy. Our friendship was more important than some guy who probably didn't even like me back.

well im going through th same situation, but all of my friends (but 2) have a crush on the same guy. i like him 2nd though, cuz i knew him 2nd longest. but u know. we got into a fight one time cuz we all like him. he's not worth it i guess, i mean, he liked me and l liked him in 3rd-5th grade. i still like him but he changed schools. we went to a elemtray+middle school 2gether. but he left. now me plus my friends talk about him more. but a few still talk to him. but i dont. i never felt comfrotable around him cuz he asked me to be his gf a lot.
