A lot of people don't realize that animals have feelings, too. It sounds like your mama cat was having an emotional response to losing one of her babies. In the future, when you send one of them off.....let her be around it, alone, for a little while, then take her and the others into a separate room, so she doesn't see her baby leave. Then let her out, and watch carefully. If this was her first litter, she just doesn't understand. My mama's always walked around "calling" for their absent babies. That just about broke my heart!! You might think about having her spayed ASAP, so she doesn't have any more babies. Good luck.....

queens do know when it is time for kitten sto leave home and they will actively push their kittens away .. hiding her food juts another sign that she has had enough and wants to move on ..
kittens at that age should be weaned by now ..
seperate Mum from Kittens.. only allow supervised contact that way Mums milk will dry up slowly and kittens will get used to being without her and will become less dependent on her before they leave for there new homes..
Mum won't be smelling a starngers smell on her kittens and shouldn't get so mad.

honeslty i dont know if they'r weaned id keep them away from mom some cats abandon their babies after a certain age and leave them to fend for themselves, which could be what she's trying to do. if you can get a baby pin and put them in there with cat toys and a littler box and a few wooden planks to cover them up and they should be fine. and you also may want to spay her. part of it could be from stress.

dont let a stranger touch your kittens mum nows you and your smell so you are fine around her but strangers and if people want to look at them you pick them up and show them off yourself.
