Probably the gas in the engine has evaporated. Have you primed it to get a good flow of fuel?

Is it two cycle? Was there gas in it when it was sitting? Anytime an engine sits for 30 days or more you should store it empty of fuel. The gasoline begins to "spoil" after about 30 days. I work with outdoor power equipment and this is a very common problem. I would try emptying the tank and using fresh fuel. I don't know much about boat motors but a crab. cleaning may be a good idea as well.

Its a possibility. If its a "loose" gas tank empty it if not I would put a fuel stabilizer in it. and fill the tank with clean fuel. DO NOT put alcohol in it. Change the plugs. Also change the fuel filter and Water Separator. If none of that works it may be a starter. A quick attempt at a short fix would be to knock on the starter a few times with a screwdriver or wrench. (not the best idea as it can do further damage if you hit it too hard)

Wouldn't advise the alcohol. If it doesn't start at choking it a couple of time, I would check the plugs and make sure there not fouled. My motor you have to hit the choke button about 7or 8 times before it fires.

Was it sitting in the water? Or dry-dock?

If in the water, then yes, you may have gotten some water in there through condensation, which is common.

If dry docked and your battery has a full charge, then VERY much so, it could be your sparkplugs (easy fix) or the starter (not so easy of a fix).

take the old gas out and put fresh gas in and try it again. If it starts make sure you put some StaBil in the gas tank before storing for winter

Have you primed it to get a good flow of fuel? Is the plug dead? Is the gas still have a smell to it or a dull smell?

but i would say it is dead plug

Yes, could be. Drain the gas and whatever water inside it. Alcohol is no help though. Good luck.

It could either be water or the fuel has fouled from sitting.

...get rid of all the old gasoline... all of it (in the carb) all of it.
Replace it with some new fresh gasoline and some "good quality" fuel system cleaner... make sure the plugs are in good condition or replace them...
