My dilemma is that I think people should accept the just consequences of their actions. What should I do?

So, wigginsray, are you saying that I don't need forgiveness, just cleansing? That we don't go to hell as punishment but because we're dirty? Why doesn't God just clean us up then?

Corrina, I'm supposedly going to hell for eternity if I don't do anything. I presume that is my just punishment, otherwise, why would God send me there? To look for a plea bargain would be to try and weasel out of my just punishment, right?

no1hometoday, I don't want forgiveness. I deserve the punishment, right? Shouldn't I suffer what is due me? If God wants to forgive me, that's His business, but if I ask for it, that will make me a weasel and I don't want to be a weasel.

sovereign, the answer to your question is, "because I'm not a weasel." I'm not looking for a way out of what I deserve to get.

All of us deserve hell. But, since Jesus died for us, we can go to heaven. Remember that God is not only just, he is also merciful.

Accepting consequences for actions should not be the dilemma. Of course everyone should accept consequences for actions. The difference is what you do with the feelings you have, there is Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow for sins.

The Godly sorrow says, I feel bad about what I have done, what can I do to make it better and what do I need to change in order to make myself right before God. The worldly sorrow says, I feel bad about what I have done, but I am going to keep doing it anyway or I am just sorry that I got caught, but it does not result in change.

I think you should accept consequences too. But is eternal damnation what you want? If you committed a crime and the D.A. offered you a plea would you not accept it? Or would you say that you deserve to be imprisoned for the rest of your life on earth?

Repent and receive your just rewards. Even believers are still sinners. God knows our hearts. If we sin again and again, God understands it's the sin nature within all of us that causes us to sin. We may be able to control it, but we can't stop it.

God says you deserve eternal damnation, but He sent Jesus to pay the price and set you free. Why would you wish to send yourself to eternal damnation when Jesus gave you the way out?

Why would you want to do that if you don't have to? Jesus took the "just consequences of your actions" 2000 years ago for you, and He was pleased to do it for you. Just receive that by faith. That's all you have to do :-)

I would like to clarify that the "just" consequences of any sin is death and eternal separation from God (which Jesus experienced already in your place). Daily physical consequences can and should be expected as a result of any selfish or poor choice.

Added:

Regarding you not wanting to be a "weazel". You could never fully pay the penalty due for your sins. You're trying to pay off your sins by your own righteousness and God says that our righteousness is as filthy rags to Him. That's why the only one who could suffer and die for you had to be free from the condition of sin. His name was Jesus--The only One who was ever without sin and the PERFECT, SPOTLESS LAMB OF GOD.

Be no longer deceived, for God isn't mocked For in any way a guy sows, that shall He also receive. in case you come back to the Lord Jesus with a humble contrite heart, inquiring for forgiveness of sin, then he will forestall. he's not prepared that any might want to perish, yet that each and every one might want to come to repentance.

You're not wrong, in the context of man-to-man interaction. It is possible to be cleansed of sin against God, yet - if that action breaks man's laws concurrently - you'll need to accept the consequences.

make a list of why you think they deserve to get those consequences
then go online and research the opposite view
then do a list again of why they don't deserve to get the consequences
and then compair the list and then make up your mind
and tell God that you sought for the answer and it is not because you are just evil

We as Christians are ALL sinners; simply sinners saved by Grace. Praise the Lord that He has opened your eyes to your condition. Before one can get SAVED, they must realize that they are in NEED of SAVING. The beauty of Christianity, is that Jesus Christ has already PAID for our redemption. Now we just have to repent and ACCEPT His Gift of Eternal Life. It sounds like He is working in your heart; simply confess to Him that you're a sinner in need of His Mercy and saving Grace. Then, by Faith, Thank Him for saving you. email me if you want to talk more.....God Bless You!

Unless you turn to God, admit your guilt to God (not to men), repent (turn away from) sin, and ask God's forgiveness, with the understanding that Jesus took the penalty for YOUR sins, you WILL face the consequences for your actions.

But that's not GOD'S choice in the matter. God cries out, "I do NOT take pleasure in the death of the wicked!" He said, "I don't want ANY to perish, but ALL to come to repentance." In one place, in fact, He cried out, "Please choose Life that you might live!" (Jesus said "I am Life.")

So, really the choice is yours. God is wanting you to admit and renounce your sins (ie repent) and then He can adopt you into His Forever Family and take you to heaven when you die.

So, what WILL you do? You now know what you SHOULD do!
