Imam Ali (PBUH) says at the end of the time there would be 70 major branches in Judaism, 69 of them would be deviations from the Right Path, 71 in Christianity 70 of them would be deviations from the Right Path, and 72 in Islam 71 of them would be deviations from the Right Path.

Why? Because men start religions based on what they believe in. Whenever there are a group of people who don't agree with the current religion, they just make a new one. King James didn't agree with the bible so he made a new version. I think the real question within your question is "Is Christianity truly God's religion"? The answer to that is no. God doesn't have a religion. People do. Differences in people = Differences in religions

In first John 15:1 Christ is speaking and is saying that he is the vine and that we are the branches and that HIs Father(GOD) is the vinedresser. And that every branch in HIm that does not bear fruit is cut off. As we know branches grow from trees and if you take a look at any tree not all branches are growing the same way.

Some may even look different or are even rotting away but yet while they are still attached to the same tree. The same things happens in the body of Chrit not all branches will grow and recieve nourishment and because of this they will not bear fruit. When we bring others to CHrist this is called bearing fruit of our own kind so to speak. But not all will produce because they as so close to the sun(son) that they will dry up(walk without power) or will not get to know thier saviour as they have claim and professed that they would. But there is only one body and all the branches must be connected and recieve from HIm in order to grow and they must know HIm in order to be one with HIm and all christians. Although they may say they are christians not all are and those that are not eventually gets cut away but they still my claim to be a christian. And also even tthough there is one body there are many different functions so you have different parts of a body that performs different function. If they were all the same then where would the feet go ( or who would carry the message) who would the arms serve(helps ministry) or where would the eyes be( the prophets of the church and revelators). These all have their different ministries and different functions in the body of CHrist.

But what makes them one is that Christ is the head. And that they all follow after Him. But all must be born again it is the HOly Spirit who will lead and guide in to all truth. NOt the will and leadership of men. But it is also written that many are called but few are chosen thats because many do not take the time to do after Gods will instead they are driven and divided by their own. It takes a personal relationship with Christ to get us in to the body of Chrisgt being called a particular denomination cant.

THe Word of God says to seek ye first the kingdom of God and HIs righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. It also says to study to show they self aproved unto God a workman that needed not to be ashamed but rightly dividing the truth.

When Christ came down He made it personal the only way to know the truth is to believe in HIm. The truth about the truth is is that you will know with out a doubt that it is truth. But it will be personal the only way others will know is that you live your life as Christ did then they will know this same truth. Jesus is the way the truth and the life and no man comes tot he Father but by Him. Also read 1 john 3 , Acts 2:38 and romans 10:9

First of all religion is not Christianity. There is only one GOD one faith and one way. That is to believe that JESUS CHRIST is the son of GOD who came in the flesh, walked as a man and was tempted by every temptation known to man. Died on the cross crucifying the sin of man in the flesh on the cross. He rose from the dead on the third day becoming the first born of the dead and now sits at the right hand of the FATHER. If religion was Christianity then all doctrines would be Christians therefore we would be calling the Taliban, Muslims, the radical Islamists, and all other religions that their doctrine includes terrorism! A christian bares the fruits of CHRIST and GODLINESS and walks by faith.

God said it would be this way.
True Christians are those who truly obey the things Jesus taught.
He says that just as a tree is known by it's fruits, a man is known by his life.
You can know a true Christian by looking to see if their life matches the things that Jesus taught.
If not, then they are probably among those Jesus was talking about when he said that on the last day there will be many who say "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name cast out devils, and in your name done many wonderful works?"
And he will say to them, "I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness"
So, there are many people who will claim Christ's name, of whom he will say "I never knew you"
And about the Bible.
The fact that there are many translations is not a big problem.
(there are also different translations of the Quran) They carry the same message.
The King James Bible for instance, that so many hold to, is written in old english. It is a bit harder to understand, but the reason many value it is because it is translated from some of the oldest texts, texts that predate Mohamed.

It is sad. It is double edge sword. The more powerful religion the more influential it is. If it is true it can lead a true light to the world. But if it is not you can very well understand its consequence on the humanity. I wish it could be true !!!! There is only one God of this universe who created the whole world, all men and women and everything within. So it is illogical to think that there would be more than one Law of this Universe. He sent His words in all time and all nations since the time of creation of this universe and He promised to preserve His Law. But people distorted His words in every era. Any religion can be judged by its scriptures only. But unfortunately we lost the original. All Bibles are translations. The original manuscripts are lost and gone forever. We cannot know exactly what the words were." "Only the original manuscripts in original languages contain the words of God. No translation or copy can carry over God's words perfectly. The process of changes in Bible is still going on which gives a lot of confusion and interpretation in its meaning .

I don’t agree that different interpretation of scriptures does not make any difference. On the basis of this different interpretation many wars were fought.
Millions of people were slain. All the prophets have been sent to covey same message of God. Jesus also did not bring any new law. "Think not that I(Jesus) am come to destroy the law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. He never claimed divinity.
(i) "My Father is greater than I."
[The Bible, John 14:28]
(ii) "My Father is greater than all."
[The Bible, John 10:29]
(iii) "…I cast out devils by the Spirit of God…."
[The Bible, Mathew 12:28]
(iv) "…I with the finger of God cast out devils…."
[The Bible, Luke 11:20]
(v) "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
[The Bible, John 5:30]
But later on people distorted his true message. Many cut, paste and delete were done in the Bible to suit the agenda in the name of God and innocent Jesus. Gospel of Mathews gives emphasis on Jesus human nature while Gospel of John which is later days product, on his divinity. Trinity, original sin was added much later. In Christianity the door was kept open to write Bible of once own choice, choice of the prevailing situation. So this presented the chaotic scene.Following 17 verses have been removed completely from the New Testament in the NIV.....

Matthew 17:21; 18:11; 23:14; Mark 7:16; 9:44: 9:46; 11:26; 15:28; Luke 17:36; 23:17; John 5:4; Acts 8:37; 15:34; 24:7; 28:28, Romans 16:24; and 1 John 5:7! One of the strongest references to the Trinity was found in 1 John 5:7,8. Newer Bible footnotes say it is NOT included in these older witnesses.
1 John 5:7 (KJV) "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

1 John 5:7 (NIV) " "For there are three that testify." (rest of verse missing). So came the unitarin, Trinatrian, son of God, God himself, Baptism , no Baptism, Satanism, Propht , God……….

If God has promised to save His words, He must have preserved His words in this nature. Only thing we have desire to see. But!!! Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

It's called "doctrinal differences" among the various Protestant denominations, as well as the Protestant doctrinal difference with the catholic church.

Uh, and just WHY would you assume that there would NOT be doctrinal differences?

The BIG PICTURE is that all true Christian churches accept and rejoice in the divine nature of Jesus, Son of the one true God, and rejoice in the covenant of the New Testament for the salvation of the eternal soul.

That's "why".

Christianity is originally a heavenly religion, just like the "original" Judaism and Islam.

The point is that Christianity and Judaism have been both subject to distortion by humans, this explains existence of so many kinds of Christians.

Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 one God and Father of all, the One above all and through all and in you all.

There is only one "kind" of Christian, born anew, indwelt with the Spirit, redeemed, forgiven, justified and being sanctified. Those whom God has chosen out for salvation.

I guess I can explain it best by saying that the Reformation gave permission to all individuals (or congregations in some instances) to interpret the scriptures for themselves. There is, however, only one type of Christianity, the variances in beliefs are due to the variances in interpretation.
