I've posted two "questions" today on this issue, and the responses were lacking in understanding regarding deceptions and those who deceive.

This is a very important topic, and Scripture warns against false teachers and those who would teach damnable heresies.

But it looks like all too many are complacent in their beliefs, thinking they cannot be deceived.

Either study the subject, or suffer the consequences. It is much easier to deceive and be deceived than you can imagine.

Dear Hogie,

It is impossible to claim one is not deceived if one does not know the methods of deception.

Thank you for trying to wake the sleepers. I applaud you and say Well Done ...!

In a world where there are limited resources and unlimited wants people tend to say "Later" or "Someday" when it comes to delving into such topics as you raise.

I first read the Bible from cover-to-cover 15 years ago when my life was falling apart at the seams. Knowing what I know now I wish I had read God's instruction manual before I started dating, before I graduated from high school, before I went to college, before I married, before I had children. But I didn't.

I found that reading the Bible was the best thing I ever did and it sure did knock down a lot of my preconceived notions

For His glory,
JOYfilled

For me I don't think I could ever say I wasn't deceived. I believe most of us can not say we haven't been. It is after we learn we were deceived that we see the method. We learn from the experience. I do believe that we need to pray for wisdom and discernment. If we stay in the WORD we should have our eyes more open to know we are being deceived but we live in the world of satan and with that deceiption is all around us and easy for us to fall into the trap. For me I was in churches teaching false doctrine and really had part of my eyes blinded. But, the more I read my bible and learned and questioned the more I saw. My spirit knew something wasn't right. My spirit was stirring. I prayed my eyes open and the Lord show me and then I saw what I was hearing wasn't true to the word and so I left the church. There are many methods of deception and we only know them by God opening our eyes to them.

The methods of deception aren't what you need to focus on. The important issue is identifying wether a person is a false teacher or not. You will know them by their fruit. If they don't exhibit the fruits of the spirit then their not who you need to listen to.

the very name "satan" means "deceiver". also the bible tells us he's the ruler of the world. john 12:31; 14:30. if the master deceiver therefore rules the world we live in, we would obviously live amongst many deceptions. most all religions are full of them. even "christian" religions. i agree with your last two statements wholeheartedly. personally, after much study, i believe that hellfire and immortality of the soul are two widespread deceptions of satan.

The bible was created to be a tool to deceive the sheeple. It is still working too.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

God bless.
