Im a single, divorced mother. My son is 2 1/2 years old and just recently he started staying the whole weekend with his dad. At daycare there is 6 kids. He started not wanting her out of her site. He starts crying when she is in the bathroom, goes upstairs or downstairs...He has started it with me now...I just wondered if him going with his dad has anything to do with it.

I assume "she" is the daycare provider? Yes, a radical or even slight change in a toddler's routine causes them to feel insecure and be really clingy.

It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with his weekends at Dad's - it's just different. He feels unsure of his surroundings and is afraid that other things might be changing too. I wouldn't be surprised if he also starts acting out and ignoring discipline. It will get better once he adjusts.

It could. He could be feeling a little bit of separation anxiety. He loves his dad, he loves you, and I am sure he is fond of his caretaker yet he has to be apart from each of you at different times. Hopefully when he recognizes a pattern he will settle down. Maybe you should talk to a pediatrician or some kind of specialist to find out how to help him cope.

Classic separation anxiety.
His little routine is mixed up, and he's not sure who's going to be around the corner next. Keep reassuring him that you'll always be his mommy, and nothing is ever going to change that. He'll figure it out, just give him a little time.
