Jesus told his disciples to remain in his love because just as we enter freely into a relationship with Christ, we are free to leave him. Scripture is overflowing with examples of this. In Romans 11:22, Paul says, "Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off." In Galatians 5:4, Paul says, "You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace." This verse implies that they were united with Christ and in grace before they fell. In 1 Corinthians 9:27, Paul again warns the Christians against being overconfident: "I pummel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified." This is not the language of "once saved always saved."
Teaching of "once saved always saved.", for me is a trick or deceiving to get more members. It is easy convert with doing no effort just saying I believe and faith alone. Ask yourself why do you need to go to church if you are saved. If you answer to give good reasons go to church then you are contradicting yourself. Why keep deceiving yourselves just say, it is misinterpretation say you are wrong. I know you are afraid of the cross or to be wrong or to do any work with grace that God has given you.

Christianity revolves around Faith in Jesus. When you excercise that faith you can feel it in your spirit & not just in your mind or body.Unless you are 'inside' you won't know what is 'inside'.If you don't believe you dont receive. If you don't beleive you are saved by the blood of Jesus then you are not saved. On the other hand the Bible also says that you shall know the tree by its fruits, meaning a person who is truly saved -good works will follow. You may not be 100 percent perfect but you would atleast be on the road to perfection.
If you don't believe in the authenticity of God's word then there is really no ground for reasoning.

Let it go guy. I read all these responses on different questions and hear the hate and perplexment of people who don't believe in God and actually hate christians. Hate Hate Hate, these answer pages are full of it mainly against us stoopid weak minded christians. Let people believe what they want. I am saved. I believe that, If you were saved you'd believe it too. Is that such a hard thing to understand? I believe I am forgiven for my sins (sin, there's a strange concept in today's world, simply defined as hurting yourself, hurting other people or hurting God). I believe I get to live forever in the presence of God after I die. Its never been a problem in the last several hundred years to believe that. Why would it be now?

You know because now you not only have the burden of sin and guilt lifted from your soul, but you also have fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit, as now you are one through the sacrifice of Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection....you also know because you suddenly have new "desires" that were very much foreign to you before; such as a thirst for The Word, fellowship with other believers, going to church because you WANT to, not because you're being FORCED to....basically, you become a "new Creature" in Christ....(2 Corinthians 5:17 kjv)

Believe me you'll know it, when you truely recieve it! It's not just a 'mind' thing. Yes, at first you accept Salvation with your mind, then by confessing and repenting of your sins, you declare with your mouth that you believe and recieve God's forgiveness with thanksgiving in your heart.... and then it happens! You will feel different, changed somehow on the inside . You'll feel clean, renewed, free, and yes, Saved! God is not a liar, His word declares that He forgives us of ALL our sins.

1Jn 5:11 And this is the witness: that God gave us everlasting life, and this life is in His Son.
1Jn 5:12 The one having the Son has life. The one not having the Son of God does not have life.
1Jn 5:13 I wrote these things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God.
Pretty straightforward. If you believe in Christ, in His fully atoning work on the cross, you are saved. That belief does not come from our flesh, but from God. Salvation is a gift from God, through His grace. It is a complete work of God.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become children of God, to the ones believing into His name,
Joh 1:13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God.
1Jn 3:1 See what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.

The Bible says that if you believe that Jesus, who is God, died for your sins on the cross and rose again, you are saved. I am 100% sure that I will be in heaven because of this biblical belief.
"Peter at the gates" isn't real and isn't biblical.
