This is actually become a much more modern trend.
I personally find it very attractive. It shows that the girl is confident and proud in herself. It shows she isnt afraid of rejection. It shows that she knows what she wants and she isnt afraid to go and get it. Not that i don't respect women, but i would highly respect her.
I think more women need to do it.

i'm cool with it also as the girl is not over the top with it... for example you can ask the guy out but make him feel like worked for it...

It's wonderful. Some guys are way too nervous or shy around women. If you want to get that man and he doesn't seem outgoing, sometimes you have to step up to the plate
