Pardon my ignorance. I'm not a native speaker and the other day is was talking with a friend of mine and he started laughing and said that to me.... what does it mean???

It means you not ordinary - usually in a good sense - like you're funny, intelligent, different from the run of the mill. A compliment, almost certainly.

it means you have a strong personality... you're an interesting, funny, fun-to-be-around person, basically. it's a compliment.
