Oh, and how do we stop them from coming back once we open up the borders with the North American Union and the NAFTA highway?

Short-term, they will stop shopping in our businesses and our economy will suffer. Long-term, they will return and everything will be the same.

We would be fine. In the long term, there is a comprehensive plan that will keep the borders shut, migration not needed or wanted from Mexico, in return for free trade, Mexico would have to follow the US guidelines, crackdowns on the conditions in Mexico. Free trade is highly prized by Mexico. There would be some fallout here, in some manufacturing businesses, but these businesses will recoup. For some who's jobs might be displaced, these people will be compensated. I would my tax dollars compensate Americans, and not go to the freebies the illegals are getting.

As it couldn't be done overnight, I'd suggest that as illegals were deported in sufficient numbers, the government could assess our TRUE needs for immigration and adjust legal quotas accordingly. So it wouldn't impact our daily lives at all. It would increase legitimate businesses and opportunities for small businesses to compete more fairly rather than giving an advantage to those who break the law.

Our economy would probably GROW. Our schools would be less crowded and more money could be allocated for the individual legal student. Highways would be less crowded and there would be less strain on the infrastructure. Tax collections would grow with the infusion of more legal immigrants providing more money for needed programs.

Hospitals could cut costs as less debt would be forfeited. Insurance levels would drop as less uninsured drivers would be on the road. Americans would be healthier on the whole and we could try to re-eradicate diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis and leprosy.

There would be less crowding in penal facilities and the courts would have less on their dockets ensuring faster justice for everyone. Lawyers probably would feel a little pinch in their wallets. As wages would grow for the poor, more people could come off welfare programs. Business who illegally hire would suffer, but those who have only done legal hires would benefit hugely.

Overall, it would benefit the US and legal immigrants from all over the world hugely to deport ALL illegal aliens.

Daily lives - Less congestion. Lower prices for gasoline, electricity, natural gas, land, etc. Less pollution. Lower taxes. Schools spending time on education instead of ESL and feeding illegals. Hospitals having time for real emergencies instead of giving a $500 taxpayer funded aspirin to an illegal. Higher standard of living for the poor and middle class. The rich will have a lower standard of living as they will not have 12-20 million people to enslave.

Businesses - They will be forced to pay honest wages and benefits. They will have to treat employees fairly in order to retain them.

Economy - some aspects will suffer as the Ponzi scheme of an ever increasing population makes growth slow to a more natural rate. Other aspects will improve as American employees will spend ALL of their money in the local economy. Also Americans will have much lower taxes as we will not be subsidizing the chamber of commerces illegal slave laborers.

Our $500 billion trade with Mexico will diminish big time during the Mexican Revolution but everyone except the current Mexican elite and their corrupt government will benefit in the long run. The lack of illegal immigrants will impact our daily lives in the short term because the price of agricultural products will increase but they will then drop to acceptable levels in two years.

We'll be great. We can go back to employing our youth and offering work millions of Americans who need work. We were fine before the wet-backs came and we'll fine when they're gone. As one answerer called us--gringos--well--we are so what--and you are --NOT! lol.
The truth is: We'll go back to mowing our own lawns like before--our fat kids will have to get out of their SUVs and Gameboys and help. Businesses will have to declare real revenue earnings and wages to the IRS. Bush will have to hire a few thousand workers to work his farms. And our economy will be fine without exporting the millions of US dollars the illegals western union home every week.
I get excited just thinking of it!!
OHHH ANd OUR TELEPHONES WILL ALWAYS BE IN ENGLISH!!! Yipppee. go home illegals.

The obvious answer is that we deport them all and stop the NAU!

If you people had been around in the 1700's we'd still be courtesying the queen.

If incrementally we can replace with legal ones those we need. AS we determine we need them.

And AS we tally costs of education and services against the benefits provided from immigration and have the immigration match service excess we have, rather than exceed it.

If the piece of the pie for individuals is bigger, but the pie is smaller, workers win. Corporations that skim from the top want profits rather than wages increased. That is good for executive benefits and investors, but not for workers, who most of us are.

It depends on who you ask. It will make it easier for Americans to get certain jobs, and there will definitely be less crime. But it will speed up outsourcing, as companies look elsewhere for cheaper labor.
