Women drivers are a menace, less likely to be involved in an accident but more likely to cause one.

How many times have you flashed your lights to tell a female driver to pull out from a junction. You move into the outside lane to allow them to do this, then the dozy female sits and looks at you as you drive by in the outside lane wondering why you have flashed your lights.

Qualified drivers, well yes, I suppose they are but common sense drivers they aint

yes you could be right, I may be a male chauvenist pig, but when I am driving my HGV and see a car that refuses to leave the middle lane, I know it is either an Asian or a woman. When I see a car coming down a motorway entry road a driving straight onto the motorway no matter what is there at the time, I know it's a woman, when I used to be courteous and flash/wave/direct women to pull out or turn in front of me, I was just wasting my time, unless it is in black and white, they dont understand.
When the car in front is travelling along in a light summer shower with it's fog light on, I know it's a woman.

In every one of these instances, there would probably never have been an incident that a female was involved in, yet everyone of these incidents would have been caused by a female.
They are a danger to others and should not be driving!

My wife considers herself to be a good driver, she has bever had an accident and has a clen licene, I have 6 points on my licence but there is no way i would let my wife drive if I was in the car.

Only once has a woman been in charge of this coutry, and look at the mess she made of that.
No. Women have small feet, this enbles them to stand closer to the kitchen sink and that is where they should remain.

Sex equality Lol!

Stephen H you're an idiot. I am a competent, skilled, FEMALE driver with a clean record. I drive courteously, I'm constantly aware of my surroundings, and I could beat your *** behind the wheel any day. I have a clean driving record and the only accident I have ever been involved in was because a MALE driver slammed into the back of me in dead stop traffic on the freeway. It is a myth fueled by male chauvinist pigs like our friend Stephen that women are bad drivers, even though most males cause accidents, drive like they own the road, and their insurance is higher. And yes, driving standards and courtesy have absolutely plummeted! It seems people are confused as to how a turn signal works and what its function is. The come flying down the road and tailgate you when you're already doing 10 over and you're in traffic so you can't move out of their way. Or when they almost run you off the road after cutting you off, and you honk at them and they look at you as if to say, "what? I didn't do anything cuz I'm an oblivious ****!"

If women drivers are a collective menace to road safety, then why is vehicle insurance higher for a man than a woman? Statistically, males are more likely to be at fault in an accident, so your assumption has no merit.

I am an agressive driver, so one would be more likely to associate my style of driving as being "masculine." However, I have never been involved in any type of accident, and the only points I've ever lost on my liscence have been for speeding. Oh, and by the way, this stereotype is just as offensive as posting the question, "Are African-Americans really lazy, or is it just a myth?" Funny how this outright sexism in our society is acceptable, but racism is not.

Courtesy and standards have declined in everything, not just driving. Our world is going to sh*t.

No women on the roads are no worse than men except possibly on the school run when the kids are in the car but then I have seen some very silly moves by men after they have been dropped of. Standards of signalling and courtesy on the roads are getting worse. The lack of courtesy is general, It is the non existent signalling which is the most dangerous. I was taught signal if it helps and if no one is around you signal anyway because it is better to waste one than miss one. The result of that any manoeuvre demands a signal and is made before I move so the only thing I have to consider is exactly when to move

I happen to be an excellent driver. Oddly enough it's been mostly men that I have seen that were the bad drivers and who took senceless chances. But that does't mean I think all men are bad drivers.

And yes, I think courtesy while driving has plummeted. I have people try to dart behind me when backing out of parking places and people who won't let me get into the other lane when I signal. I try to be courtious, I wish others would too.

Women drivers are just as good as their male counterparts but
safer, they normally don`t take risks that male drivers might.
There is only a small percentage of woman drivers who don`t
know how to drive compared to males who think they do.

The worst women drivers i have encountered are the ones that
drive 4x4s in my town anyway. They have no concept of how
large their vehicle is.I have spent many a time sat in my car in
a supermarket carpark watching them trying to park the thing or
get out of the space they put it in.

As for standards and courtesy it varies wherever you go.Where i live the drivers are mostly nice but you do meet the odd assh**e.
I have been driving for 27 yrs and there are more cars on the roads now than there were when i first passed my test back then.

More cars=More conjestion on roads that have not been upgraded
to handle the larger percentage of vehicles that we now have as opposed to 20 something years ago.

I drive around 50000 miles a year, so I see pretty much every kind of driver. In my humble opinion women tend to commit "errors" such as low speed parking mistakes, not using their mirrors and lack of awareness of other cars, and lack of spatial skill-yes, they're all the old chestnuts but I'm speaking about what I see day in, day out. Men tend to commit all the aggressive sins-dangerous overtaking, cutting people up, racing other cars away from the lights, speeding etc.
A female friend of mine has a BMW M3-she has so much trouble with male drivers in slower cars either driving too closely, not letting her out of junctions, and generally being small-dick wonders. I think that is a good barometer of male attitudes to women drivers; they should be in Fiestas and Micras etc, and leave the real machinery to the boys. I can't help laughing at that mentality-I go skydiving, and I'll take a female pilot over a male one any day of the week, and the guy who taught me (64 years old, 23000 jumps, qualified pilot) agrees 100%, and this is the crucial difference between men and women when in charge of a powerful machine; men think with their balls, women think with their brains.

Driving standards have plummeted, that is a fact, just think of the number of complete numbskull's who overtake and fill the gap that you leave for safety between yourself and the vehicle in front. I note that most of the offenders drive German made cars and Chelsea tractors, so may be there is a connection there.

I'm a female who has driven a semi truck for over 550,000 accident- and ticket-free miles (about 5 years driving a truck) and prior to getting my CDL I've never gotten into an accident or been issued a ticket in some 10 years of driving a car. My mother has only been involved in one accident involving another vehicle in some 35 years of driving and she hasn't had a ticket since she was in her 20's. And my grandmother is 80 (no longer driving) but until she gave up her license (willingly!) at the age of 75, she had NEVER in nearly 60 years of driving had an accident OR gotten a ticket. Maybe it just runs in my family....but compare that to the driving history of the males in my family there's a stark contrast!!!

My boss owns 25 trucks, and as of last count he has 6 female drivers. That's a high percentage for such a small company, especially considering women are a minority in trucking. He flat-out told me he much prefers to hire females, as we are safer, more cautious, less prone to get tickets, not to mention we tend to keep our trucks cleaner than the men ;)....he's been in the trucking industry for some 30 years and he's not the first person I've heard that from.

Insurance rates for female drivers are lower than for male drivers- that ought to say something?

Believe me, as a commercial driver I see PLENTY of stupidity on the road....and stupid doesn't discriminate! Sure, I see soccer moms cheat death with a car full of kids because they're too busy handing out Happy Meals and they think their Suburban is invincible....but the next day I see business men too busy shaving, eating cereal and teleconferencing (at the same time) to bother paying attention to driving. I don't know how many times I've nearly run over some teenage MALE idiot in a stupid Fast&Furious wannabe car who decides to play "tag" with the semi trucks.

Two weeks ago I stopped to give a statement in an accident caused by a very drunk MAN in a Jeep who plowed into a BMW while doing 90 MPH in the left lane. Had it not been for this careful FEMALE truck driver, someone would have probably been very injured, but I saw the collision coming and hit my brakes early, so the driver of the Jeep simply ran off the road into the dirt instead of running underneath my trailer and getting smooshed.

There are idiot drivers of both sexes, and yes driving courtesy has gone down. Both I think are due to a lack of education, many schools have long since done away with "drivers ed" as a part of the curriculum....new drivers aren't being taught common sense rules of the road. And partly it's this whole "me me me" attitude in society....it's me first, I'm better than you, I'm more important than you, I gotta get to my job faster than you....everyone is more self absorbed these days and in a big dang hurry :)

My wife is a better driver than me, but don't let her know I said so. As for courtesy, why don't people from up north give a courteous wave when I have sat there waiting for them to pass? I think it is so rude. We always do in Cornwall, but on a recent trip to the Lake district, absolutely no one showed any manners.

No more then men accept when they drop there children off to School or pick them up parking where they should not. Men do some silly things as well trying to get home in a hurry so weave in and out of traffic on the motorways.
