Have you considered a turbo diesel in particular the Golf tdi they are quick motors in standard form..add a chip and a few mods then they really fly!! Also cheapish to insure.
Good luck!
Check out youtube for fast golf tdi's then you will see what I'm talking about! ; )

Fast cars are great.
Here's a good website to browse that I use myself to compare what's available for fast car.
Auto Car Plus Insurance Transfer Site:

All the best.

Wasting your time. It is HUGELY based on so much crap.
I am an insurer and i've managed to find the sneaky ways around it.
I.e,
Occupation is BAKER in a BAKERY
Change this to BAKER in a BAKERS and your insurance could drop £200.
Most insurers won't touch you over a 1.7 and expect to way well over £1000 regardless.

be careful about insurers, i was refused insurance for a car because it had rear electric windows! so if one insurer refuses you dont give up, try another. But generally it can be difficult getting insurance for a quicker car. I once got refused insurance for a car 1.8 turbo 160bhp , i was 29 years old , insurers make their own rules up, i think anyway! good luck, and dont give up.

As soon as you ask what the fastest car is, in the same sentence as insurance, you qualify yourself as a bad risk. Sorry.

A smaller car might be cheaper to insure.
A Citroen C2 VTS 1.6 HDi (110bhp, 192 lbft@2000rpm) will certainly shift.

Fastest car frightens the hell out of me. You have probably just passed your test and overconfident, in other words you are a fatal accident l;poking for somewhere to happen. After your driving test you start to lean how to drive so start learning at a slower speed it might save the life of someone including yourself. Learn fear it will keep you alive
