No they dont have the normal Full--1/2--Empty type gauge they go howerver have a fuel pressure gauge that will flicker when the fuel gets low so as to the fuel pressure not remaining constant. The one I have on my race car has a red light and a needle as well. I drive a Sportsman Class Stock car and a Late Model. Mine is produced by Longacre Comp.

The cars use a fuel pressure gauge. The reason race cars don't have an actual fuel gauge like street cars use is because when the race cars go around the corners, the fuel all goes over to one side and then one corner of the fuel tank, therefore a normal fuel gauge would be reading that the tank is almost empty or maybe even empty when there would actually be quite a bit of fuel still in there.

The fuel pressure gauge will just start bouncing back and fourth when the tank is almost empty. It's mainly up to the crew chiefs to know how many laps their car can go before needing fuel again. They will calculate that during practice sessions before the race.

No. They do not.

I saw a Subway Sandwich commercial with Tony Stewart sitting in a race car with a big fuel gauge and when he held the sandwhich to his mouth the gauge went to full etc.
I was like what the ....?!

I have a fuel pressure gauge on a '69 camaro I bracket race and on the street when the needle drops to zero or starts bouncing it's like holy crap, you have about a 1/4 mile or less to find a gas station! Yea, I still have the stock fuel gauge but have you seen the price of 93 octane lately!?

The only guage inside the car related to fuel is a fuel pressure guage. When the fuel gets low, the needle on the pressure guage starts to bounce and hopefully you make it to pit road before the fuel runs out. The pit crew should have the fuel mileage figured out where this won't happen, but sometimes the numbers don't add up.

No there is no gage. There are sofisticated computer programs that figure the revs the car is putting out and determines how much fuel the car is consuming. These programs are run on a computer on the pit box of the team.

no they don't have a fuel gauge. They figure out the mileage and then all through the race they weigh the fuel they put in the car and figure out how far they can go
