At the time I said it, I didn't know the person was jewish, but now that I know, I'm not sure if I regret saying it, or if I should stick to my guns.

I understand it's despicable to call someone that unwarranted, but a report nazi is a report nazi. I find it detestable when any voice is silenced.

I've never said anything bad about any jewish person, at least not because they were jewish.

I apologize to anyone offended by this question, but I'm not going to apologize for what I said to that person. I think reporting is infantile and fascist, just like the nazis.

Ronald H. McChrist: I'd rather not say, I don't want to bring down any anti-semitic crap on them from people reading this.

I think the word has been integrated into our lexicon, and personally, even though the word still sends a bit of a shiver up my spine, I'm glad that it has, because that has neutralized it.
Words alone do not carry impact- we allow them to carry impact. We give them power over us. And if the word 'nazi' becomes forbidden because it is so evil of a notion, then nazi's still win, because 70 years later we, the inheritors of that burning legacy, are afraid to use the word, and thus they still have power over us. I refuse to let them do any more damage on my part.
If you call them a Jew, a kike any of those nasty antisemitic words, I'll kick your a5s myself (all 110 pounds of me ;) but come on guys- let's not let nazi's have any more control, by buying into fear of the very word.
nazinazinazinazinazi. There. It's over. Now it's just a finger spasm on the keyboard.

Look, the Jewish people have been through enough! The word "Nazi" understandably would be something detestable to them since it brings to mind the horrible slaughter of these innocent people. A little compassion and sensitivity would be in order here! If millions of your people were slaughtered, you would have the right to be upset too!

nazi in today's wold is defined as a person who carries out a task with zealous determination. So in that sense, it may be appropriate; however, if someone that you give a hoot about is offended, maybe you shouldn't use the term. But if they are reporting inappropriately, then perhaps the term fits them??

Not really, it is colloquial speech.
I never use Nazi as an insult (unless they actually were a Nazi, like the Pope) instead, I say fascist.
A soup fascist, a report fascist, etc...

It's rather rude to say that to anyone and yes, a person of Jewish derivation may be extra-sensitive to it.
If you want to call yourself a "-nazi" about something in your own personality or behavior, that's fine, but calling other people "nazis" isn't going to change their minds about reporting you.

Might be offensive. Any time you bring up the name of a group that could have been responsible for killing someones family member, you run the risk of upsetting them.
Probably not worth the label.

I agree with Tawaen about needing a generic label, although I think the term "Report-monkey-suckas" is better.

What is with all the Jew bashing today? Don't you have anything better to ask about? Or has your day been slow? Call them what you like, as long as you don't mind being called something equally stupid right back.

this is why you should not use terms "like nazi" lightly.
you should use generic terms that are equally insulting regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or religion.
that way all people feel equally insulted and no one group feels more insulted.
