Any topic ideas?? It can't be a persuasive speech. I was going to do the media and it's effects on women's self image and self worth, but she said that was persuasive. Help?

If it's for a public school, I would recommend avoiding Christian topics and go for what sells. Avoid controversial topics. Grades are important too.

Here are some ideas though if you want to pursue it:

Christmas is coming up and you could do one on St. Nicholas - the real one that's been dead awhile.

You could talk about Christian rock - it's history or whatever.

I heard a great speech about hidden messages in rock music. Mostly non-Christian rock. He actually got the records and played them backwards, slow and stuff so we could hear the message. He had one Christian song that sounded really cool forward and backward with completely different lyrics - crazy.

You could talk about a historical event about Christianity. Perhaps the Council of Nicea (I can't spell it) or something. As long as it's more news and not giving an opinion about it I think.

My suspicion is that anything you want to discuss on a 'Christian basis' will be seen as a persuasive speech by your teacher. I'd say pick a hobby of yours and talk about it instead.
