Eagle, vulture, pig, lobster - yep I'd eat them all!
Sunday - day of rest - yes - this way the overlords of yesteryear could make the minions work a 6 day week!
That's all!

Eagle - no, because for one thing they are a federally protected animal and I could go to jail for eating one,
Vulture--no, because they are hideous and disgusting looking things.
Pig --yes, because they are actually one of the cleaner animals in the barnyard, and taste delicious. Especially bacon and ham.
Lobster -- yes, because they are delicious, especially with some melted butter or in a lobster roll.
My husband is more adventurous, he might eat a vulture. He has eaten alligator...
I rest, observe the Sabbath, exercise, work, play and eat well, and I am in excellent health, always have been.
Paul's dream didn't mean that we *should* eat unclean animals, but that we *can* eat animals that were previously thought unclean, if God now says they are clean.
So I eat everything I wish to eat, with thankfulness that I HAVE food to eat.
Thanks for expressing your concern!

I think you will find that the old law was largely a law of health and back in those days in a hot climate meat, and especially pig, would have gone off very quickly.
However nowadays we can cure our pork and also refrigerate it or even freeze it keeping it good for a much longer period of time.
It is therefore clear that this old law of health is no longer necessary in the same way that in the old law we would have had to take our bathroom outside the city walls and leave it in the unclean place and build a new one if we got any mildew in it, but that is also out of date as we can just clean it.
It is therefore clear that some parts of the Bible are out of date, but it is important we discern which parts are and are not. This of course would lead to confusion, hence the great numbers of churches in the world.
This is why the world needs a prophet.
(It has one. Check out the lds church.)

Brethren,
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
I would not suggest eating a vulture or hog if it has turned to the dead, by its smell you should know.
The rules Moses handed down in Leviticus 11 are sound, one might consider that there was not refridgeration back then as well.

I don't eat meat from any animals listed in scripture as unclean for consumption. It's not a matter of health (plenty of people eat lobster and pork chops and are healthy) but it IS a matter of obedience to the Laws of the Torah.
Far from dragging my feet to follow the dietary laws, I enthusiastically embrace them! It's a real way to demonstrate that I love the L_RD of Creation by adhering to His Laws for us.
Incidentally, the dietary laws are for people of the Jewish faith, not gentiles. HOWEVER, to follow the dietary laws is considered righteous action by anyone who is doing so for the reason expressed above.

I wouldn't eat an eagle or a vulture unless it was absolutely necessary. I don't eat lobster because I don't like it. Let people eat what they want. Food is food.
Fun fact: The closest relative to the lobster is the common cockroach. Now, eat that lobster bug!

most wouldnt eat an eagle or vulture?
probably not eat an eagle out of respect as many people find the eagle a very pretty creature.
and no to the vulture because it tends to eat things that have been sitting dead for some time.
i could care less if it tastes good i'll eat it.

We referred to this in Church some weeks in the past. there is someplace in the Bible that mentions between the disciples being instructed by utilising God to consume what became then "unclean" nutrition simply by fact God had provided it for him and it became consequently okay to consume, even in spite of the undeniable fact that forbidden by utilising historic rules. If i discover the top verse i'm going to come back to you
