when he was on the cross? It was total humiliation that they were interested in so I do not doubt that he was naked on the cross but, I also know that there is a piece of Scripture that talks about it being sinful to look upon your Father's naked body, so I do not put it past Mary to have done this as she was every bit aware of Scripture as the other men, she had the Scriptures written on her heart I believe.

Yes indeed Midge, it is part of the crucifixion tradition that is part of our faith, you are correct about Jesus being stripped naked as this was the final humilation inflicted on the Jewish man by the cruel Romans, the story goes that the Roman soldier at Mary`s bidding took the veil from Her and covered Christ to save His dignity.

I don't find that in Scripture, anywhere. Let's think about this for a moment, the Roman soldiers stripped Him, we know this from Scripture, and hung Him on the cross. Now, how exactly would Mary, or anyone be able to get up to Him to cover Him? And, why would the Roman soldiers allow this? If this occurred, you would think one of the gospel writers would have mentioned it. This is the dangerous ground we tread upon when we make things up according to our emotions or what we think should have happened, and go away from what the Scriptures actually say.

Jesus didn't have any children, so it wouldn't have been a problem.
