That seems to be the only reason we are still there, for "security purposes." Why do we care if they kill each other?? The Democrats certainly don't.

I do. They've been given a fresh start at a democracy- if they can't make it work, then that blood is on their hands. Whoever fills the void will still have to answer to us. There's just no reason to stay.

I think that is a great idea, but whoever it is that is profiting from the 300,000 barrels of oil that is being stolen from Iraq every day would not think it was a good idea.

Some people will try to convince you that it is being stolen by insurgents, but it is the U.S. military and Blackwater Security that is guarding these facilities and anyone with at least half of their brain working would wonder why nobody noticed all the tanker trucks that would be needed to haul it away. Also, what are the insurgents going to do with the oil and no refinery to take it to.

Back to the question, if the U.S. troops were removed from combat action, the Iraqis would most definately stand up up to defend themselves from the foreigner. The proof is in their recent attacks on Al Qaida.

That would be a HUGE MISTAKE leading to more American deaths ....NOT less.... many of those deaths would be innocent women and children....possibly right here in America

And before you accuse me of never having fought in a war....I not only fought in two wars defending American interests.....not only taught and fought counter-terrorism for 30 years....I am intimately familiar with Iraq and Iran......I worked for the Shah of Iran

Pulling out of the middle east would be a big mistake. In the future we are going to have to deal with containing China and all of the other rising powers.

Let them kill each other off. They seem to like it, especially for "religious" reasons.

I don't think the US is there to protect the irakian otherwise I don't think anyone would be killed and anyone would want the troop to come back home. The reason the US is there is purely business and religion,
